Sources for lightweight fabrics et al.

Post by mfezela »

I'm looking for (8m², 5 x 1.5m) lightweight, soft hand, woodland camouflage printed nylon or polyester fabric. Not necessarily water resistant.
None of the usual suspects: RBTR, P̶r̶o̶l̶i̶t̶e̶ Profabrics, Xtremtextil, etc. would appear to have such.
Any suggestions?

Hi Sean,
I wrote Prolite instead of Profabrics on my initial post. Now corrected.
The lightest that Profabrics sell is 5oz, 150g/m². I'm hoping to find 1oz, 30g/m²

Bought some stuff of these guys a couple of years ago: http://www.bstfabrics.co.uk/ Got samples at minimal cost too which was worthwhile in choosing the right stuff.

hello, I have seen an american blog post for a myog quilt and the ingredient list is as follows:

For insulation - 5oz Climashield Apex
For the quilt outer - Momentum 90-MR ('mini-ripstop')
For the inner liner - Momentum 90-T ('taffeta')
For edging - 1" grosgrain

where in the uk can i buy these or what similar materials/equivalents should I go for so I don't have to pay and wait for overseas shipping?

Many thanks

UK based try Pennine Outdoor - https://www.pennineoutdoor.co.uk/ or Extremtextil in Germany https://www.extremtextil.de/ Not sure about the climashield.

Climashield can be had from extremtextil and adventurexpert (the latter hooked me up with some end of roll stuff for cheap when making my quilt :-bd )

Point North and Penine Outdoor are both really good stocks and service.
