MYOG Al Fresco Toilet Trowel

Post by pistonbroke »

In preparation for the upcoming Montañas Vacias trip where leave no trace is required and public toilets non existent, thought I'd make a digging implement out of a plastic tube as used for silicone sealant or filler, you know the type. 5 minutes with the hacksaw and the addition of a couple of BB stickers produced this. It has the added benefit of clipping neatly around the downtube, thus making a handy stone guard as well. I love dual purpose gizmos.

Shafiq- yes I've tried it on the sandy rocky stuff around here and it works fine, note the scratches on the photos.
Techno- ever tried finding a stick in the bare moonscape scrubland at 1,500-2,000 m up a Spanish mountain? Not many trees to squat behind just rocky outcrops.

In that case, amazing tool and well done for thinking outside the box*... I do always forget your name my dear yorkshireman friend :o

Maybe we should have a competition of most innovative poo shovel (catTrowel if yer posh :-bd) :???: ... I'd urge you to submit your design (hopefully OnOne won't try and copy then mass market it from all the left over silicone sealant tubes in Sheffield & Calderdale)

No i haven't bud. Thankfully Yorkshire is less sparsely forested!
(I'm sure living in Spain has its advantages over Yorkshire? )
