Well this young man's Bivvy-a-Day has put us BaM-ers to shame.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england ... 54513247

Talking elsewhere about encouraging people to join our eccentric little hobby, reckon he'd love any BBB Devon Dwellers to take him out on a wild bivvy and give him a membership form! I'd do it myself if he lived near me.

"The 10-year-old said the best part of sleeping outside was "escaping" parents and getting to "read the Beano for as long as you want".

And he added the worst bits had been the weather and finding an ants' nest underneath the tent.

"I sometimes get a bit freaked out when it's stormy weather, but I wouldn't say I get scared."

However, Max said he now preferred sleeping in a tent to indoors and enjoyed listening to the birds and the weather "battering" against the tent"

A nascent Boner if ever there was one. Especially the bit about the Beano :-bd .

Good lad. Maybe we should all be writing wills to gift our gear to someone young and impressionable.

I did 2 years as a kid. My Dad used to mark it off on the calendar as DUC (Dave under canvas). There was a bit of our lawn that never grew grass again because we had an upstairs loo.

2 years! That's very impressive.

They "found" the key in the end then  .
