GFBD North Wales edition...

Post by summittoppler »

GFBD=Global Fat Bike Day.
If you've not heard of it, it's where people around the world ride their fat bikes on a certain day.
Anyways, December 7th was that day and in true north Wales GFBD edition I make it into a 2 dayer. So instead of me leading a ride on the coast, I thought a ride into Snowdonia was needed...

A ride from Conwy to Eigiau cottage which I done a month ago. However this was a lot tougher due to the (head wind) gale force winds and probably as I wasn't riding the 2020 carbon Salsa mukluk which I had last month (on test).

Some pics....

It was certainly a wild one, I ended up camping lower down the valley for a couple of nights. Rode up to the cottage on Saturday afternoon but was probably too early to catch you guys and it was too grim to hang around for long.
Did I see you guys ride past camp about 4pm on Saturday?

Nice one, can't beat a red hot bothy stove on a wild night.

It looks a lot more cosy than fighting with broken guylines and flailing fly sheets at stupid o’clock :|

I've been searching ebay since saying that I couldn't make the daytime part of it for a fat bike. IF I had a fat bike and a 6 pack front candle I would have rode up in the dark, solo, and met you all.

Next year, I'll make sure I'm off, with a fat bike too.

Great pictures, extremely jealous, even though I ended up in keilder forest at 10pm and a bothie at 11pm on safe forest roads and a small cateye commuter light with 1 hour burn time. Haha.

Hope to see you soon Jeff.
