Looks ace and much better weather than we had I'm thinking I need to do a trip to France, and it's easier to get to for me than Scotland, I can ride to the ferries from my house and it would be less than 10 miles total riding before I was on french soil.

Unusual to break the head of an allen bolt, I've never managed to tighten one enough to do any damage to the bolt before the hex rounds out. Was it a steel bolt?

Hozelock around the seatpost will prevent it slipping into the frame, it will still rotate, but rideable and won't damage the bike.

rich what are the bikes like, any advantage with being ti I am toying with getting 1 looked at the 1 in hathersage store seemed lighter than the alloy bike next to it, tia

sean_iow The bolt was steel, I think I tightened it so it was trying to get out the other side of the clamp which it couldn't do.

paramart The Broken Road is actually a smidge heavier than the Frontier which is its alloy comparison. We chose the Broken Roads as Ti is a bit more forgiving.

Looks a great trip. Nice that you could change plans and make it up as you go along. Think that's a joy of touring/bikepacking that gets overlooked sometimes.
