Penistone Loop: suggest extra offroad!? Pls

Post by redefined_cycles »

As per title. If anyone :-bd knows these areas would they suggest some extra offroad so I'm not going on too many roads... feel free to suggest something that goes a little further out if there is opportunity to increase the offroad to road ratio. Am happy to add 5 to 7 miles if need be...

Thanks in advance...

Do you have a particular route in mind as a starting point?

Last time I went through Penistone I came over the moors from Marsden. Wessenden Head / Holme Woods / Dunford Bridge. That was nice.

Oops. Sorry. I forgot to add my route...

Here's my route: https://strava.app.link/tjxe253q8T

I tried to get as much of the bridleways that I could from the OS maps but surely there must be extra bits that others might know of... coming from Dewsbiry/Mirfield end

You could head through Penistone SW to catch the bridleway through Brock Holes and down to Langsett, use the bridleways around the res and then head northish from the bridleway at White Cottages and then join the TPT back to Penistone - Adds about 10 miles.

Hi, I cant specifically advise on this one but I'll request to follow on Strava. I'm Glossop based but look to explore north out towards the pennine bway and over holmefirth for something a bit different from the main peak district.

Might be useful to have a look through each others rides?
