Re: Are you having owt interesting for Christmas?

I’m pretty particular about the kit and things I like so I prefer to buy them for myself.

I’ve asked for time instead this year to head off on some adventures.

Re: Helmet mounted light

I got the axis for a few more grams and a bit more lumens. Mainly because I only wanted a single helmet light, nothing on the bars.

Re: What night riding lights are people recommending?

A very good point made was how many lumins do you actually need, far fewer than you most likely think, but terrain and other people change the numbers. Also do you want a bar light, lighting where the bike is going or do you also want to see where you are looking? a couple of hundred more than the ...

I'm with Stu on this. Wifi kettle - a solution looking for a problem to solve. Now, do I need to invent a Wifi toaster? An aside, but the internet’s first webcam was invented by researchers at Cambridge, to save themselves the disappointment of walking all the way to the coffee machine to find the ...

Re: New bike?? Spesh Epic

I borrowed my cousins in Canada this summer. Once I got my head around it, it was a wicked fast bike. If I could afford it I’d have one in the shed for those head down, flat out xc blasts.

The brain got a bit of getting used to, feels like something is loose at first.

Montane minimus mitt is another option, pack down tiny. Fully waterproof.

They are a mitt though so less control. I found it fine on shimano shifter as you can thumbshift down as well as up now.

Re: Tubolito, ultra lightweight tubes

As it happens I had to slap one into my bike a couple of weeks ago after the front tyre parted company with the rest of the bike in the middle of nowhere. There didn't seem to be any adverse effects from the sealant for the next 2-3 days, after which I stripped the wheel down anyway when I got home...
