Re: Gone but not forgotten.

I sold this bike. why did I do it? I really miss it. I know it's an underbraked frankenmunter but it was fun. Sold it to build up an OO456 ti which broke. (Don't get me started). Oh well... Anybody pining for an old bike? Or maybe lusting after a new one?............... Kumquat, what's the stem set...

Re: Gone but not forgotten.

I'd like my old Claud Butler Pagan & Kona Explosif back just to see if they cut it against modern bikes. Never going to happen as I sold both to mates. The pagan cracked at the headtube & the Kona was nicked. :(

Doesn't Mike Ashley own karrimor? Enough to put me off for life :| Borrowed one of their sleeping mats last year for WRT, it delayed during the night and I woke up cold. It confirmed my suspicions about the brand, utter useless One inexpensive mat? A bit harsh! You can spend loads and still get a d...

Re: Brands?

Yeah, pretty sure SD own them now, only reason I bought the stuff recently is because I know its not going to the same firm that made my crappy boots. I think they've sunk and resurfaced a few times now.
At least they arent Muddy Fox. Now THERE'S a brand thats gone from Hero to Zero and beyond!

Annoying but Royal Mail have to pay your fees up front and hope you don't bail and leave them with a bill. To be honest for someone to look up the fee, pay it and invoice you, chase up payment, process payment, etc £8 doesn't seem so bad.

I concur. Also as mentioned above the OOFatty has ludicrously loud clattery hubs!

How far back are you going? I had some crap boots from them in 1997 and vowed never to buy anything of theirs again. On the other hand the lightweight softshell jacket & trousers I bought last year are brilliant vfm.

Paramo: Bought some waterproof trousers which weren't and were too hot 90% of the time. The material wasn't very robust either for the weight. Funnily enough I've got a couple of TN tents, one came with beefy alloy pegs (Quasar bought in 1998) and the other carbon ones with Ti spikes on the end. One...

I got back on Saturday evening and struggled to get the garage and front door keys turned. Combination of 9hrs riding and not quite warm enough gloves I think. Must get around to fitting my gel pads and squishy bar tape.

Thermarest Neoair & Exped Synmat & downmats seem popular on here. Various flavours depending on how much length, insulation, etc you need. I've got a neoair xtherm, comfy with good insulation but not cheap.
