I guess this doesn't really answer the question but I use the Orleib coffee filter holder.
My quick review.

Re: Diary of a Randonneur
Episode 16 - The Mortimer Round Mike, Steve and I do the Cross Cartel Mortimer Round route. We did it a week late so it was quieter and given the type of event it is, I'm not even sure there is that much point doing it on the "given" date. Anyway, it was great to see the lads and actually ...

I have 105s on my CRG and they are more power than I normally need. Don't eat pads either... I've done about 6000km since last November on that bike and I have just swapped out the pads!

I’ll admit the restrictions are daft, you can’t see someone in their garden but you can go to the beer garden, leave the area or visit for a holiday, work in the area or you can still visit cafes/restaurants etc, even have the cleaner come into your home (how STW...!). Weirdest restrictions ever......

Re: Tool Rolls: whats your selection of choice?
I have the AcePac tool roll and I'm very happy with it. Been using it to keep tools tidy in the frame bag as well as stand-alone strapped to my saddle rails. I have both Restrap and other AcePac stuff and I think they are both really good. I really can't see any difference in terms of the quality of...

Re: Who makes......
You could give https://www.straightcutdesign.com/ a go. There isn't a roll-top option on the site but Ross seemed very open to requests when I got my custom frame bag done. His communication was very good and the bag I got is great.

To honest, I’ve no idea, the light bicycle rims are promoted as being good for tubeless setup, it does seem counterintuitive not to have a more traditional bead hook, probably best do some research given my recent wheel woes. I can generally speaking vouch for Light Bicycle rims. I have 6 and have ...

Re: Gatherings?
Not really the same but our club rides are back on now with restrictions. Group sizes are restricted and you have to book yourself onto a group pre-ride. Each group has a very strict staggered start time. Our club is based out of a beer serving cafe so when we get back for drinks we are only allowed...

Keeping them in the tube is the problem. Since I started decanting them into a jiffy bag they have been fine.BigdummySteve wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 8:07 pm I do use the tablets but I find they tend to breakup into bit rattling about.

Re: Powdered Drink Mix
Another vote for the High Five zero tabs as well. They give water a decent flavour and give you a dose of electrolytes. I have found that since I started using them I drink a lot more as it just tastes better than plain water. Being tablets, they are small to carry as well, I took 4 days worth with ...

Any one in the Bath area?
Hey all. I'm planning something at the moment and wondered if there was anyone on the forum from the Bath area that might be able to give me the benefit of their knowledge about the "local beauty spots"? Happy to have a chat via PMs.

Re: A road trip around Wales
Enjoyed that, made me think of my 4 day trip in March. Jealous that you crossed Barmouth in daylight and of the weather you had. I wasn't expecting much in those terms though... it was March after all. I had been thinking about doing Birmingham to St Davids and back at the end of August. Seeing the ...

Currently getting through this singed copy of 20 years of DJ Yoda mixes. About 20 audio mixes along with 3 AV video sets all presented on a cassette tape shaped USB stick. https://scontent-lhr8-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/p960x960/109082033_10163789731395263_241771059265255654_o.jpg?_nc_cat=104&a...

Re: Show us your SQUARE (please).
If I do it under my own steam its fair game as far as I'm concerned. Having said that, there have been times when a private road, looks more like a driveway and goes very close to someone's house, and I have decided I would be taking the piss and I have left it. I have busted down the side of a golf...

I replied on youtube as well, but yeah, I just missed that bridge on the map at the time. I used it maybe 10 days earlier as well which is even more annoying. When I got home and noticed it I was cursing as it would have been perfect, I reckon it only would have put maybe 5km on the whole day. If I...

Neil.. sorry if you've covered it in a vid which I might have missed... but have you pondered over what you'll be replacing the LeJOG with for this year.. any mad rides planned etc etc? Episode 15 - Back to the long haul In this one, I do my first long ride for a little while. It involved a lot of re-routing on the ground due to some poor/unfortunate routing choices. Was another bumper square haul as well! :-bd https://www.composite-projects.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/espiode...

Re: Barmouth Viaduct upgrading
Rode across in March on my last big trip. It was certainly a highlight... even though it was like 9pm and pitch black. I did have this odd sense of dread of it being closed for the last hour before I got there. No reason to really but I guess with at that point on day 2 with 195km in my legs from th...
