Hope Dawn's weigh-in went well - she's been working hard recently. It's ok to let her go first...

Yes, just looked into it. Prescription only and mainly for over-55s.

Re: Fat Fighters 2021

It's not me taking it but melatonin quite literally saved my sanity after months and months of 4 or less hours of sleep every night. We still have the odd blip like this morning where the little darling woke up at 03:30 and was wide awake for the day but that's now a rare occurrence instead of almo...

Re: Fat Fighters 2021

18/09/21 95.3kg
25/09/21 93.4kg
02/10/21 93.1kg

Still to go: 12.1kg

Not as bad as I'd expected given the amount of nonsense I've put in my body this week. Need to try harder next week though.

Think that might have been the easy bit - I know the more I lose the harder it will get to lose more, but we will see.

I'm very glad this thread exists, so thanks for creating and maintaining it.

Re: Fat Fighters 2021

New entry here.

Starting point: 95.3kg
Target: 81kg
Still to lose: 14.3kg

Just checked and 15kg is the equivalent to one microwave, 192,308 bees or a wolverine.

It's also the same weight as 750 sushi portions and I don't eat sushi so this should easy...

Re: Bye bye access rights

I work with teenagers, predominantly from big cities, who come to our farm in rural Monmouthshire for a week. Many of them are from deprived backgrounds and some have experienced very little of the world beyond their neighbourhood. They generally turn up with no knowledge of the countryside - which ...

Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed reading about our little excursion. We're already planning the next adventure, perhaps a little further afield. If you're thinking about doing a trip with kids, do it - it's ace! And hopefully this write-up might help someone get it approved by their slightly less a...

Mini-bikepacking trip with mini people

There are plenty of examples on the internet of people taking their children on huge adventures across the world - bikepacking across the Andes, overlanding across Africa, underwater kayaking through caves using straws for propulsion and twine to navigate, that kind of thing - but everyone has to st...

Spotted on and around the farm last week: Wild boar Roe, fallow and muntjac Buzzards Red kite Hare House martens Pipistrelle Skylark A multitude of tiny insects living inside some rotten logs - no idea of the names of any of them! Unfortunately someone has, no doubt with good intentions, released in...

There are some fantastic folk songs about magpies: https://mainlynorfolk.info/folk/songs/themagpie.html

One of the only birds that can recognise themselves in a mirror, too.
