Just seen this ....
Glad you got it working now Ben. It does track just a shame the Spot 1's didn't have a dedicated tracking button as it can get confusing at times.

Re: SPOT 1 Tracker - £35
It generally does the same as the SPOT 2 or 3. Main points *It's bigger but it still tracks your progress and provides the SOS emergency response if required *You can send 'Check In' messages to designated contacts to their email or text to mobile phone. The following link shows what services are av...

SPOT 1 Tracker - £35 SOLD
Anyone interested in a SPOT 1 Tracker for £35?
I'll post it for another £5. Or I can bring it to the start of the HT550 as I'll be taking part. I've just upgraded to a SPOT3 Tracker.
Let me know.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Highland trail 550!!
Also forgot to mention that while at Oykel Bridge I noticed a certain Ian B was ahead of me on Track leaders. I think that spurred me on quite a bit.....
as I knew that at some point you were likely to do a monster shift. I thought I'd get in there first

Re: Highland trail 550!!
Ian I think I seen your bike in Glen Golly (love the name). Couldn't see your bivy spot though. I had a lengthy pit stop at Oykel Bridge with Alan G before going on that Northern Loop mainly because I felt wide awake so there was no point trying to sleep in a cloud of midges. I'm glad I did it that ...

Re: Highland trail 550!!
Lochinver traverse hike a bike killed me off. 16km of pushing over rocky largely unrideable terrain meant my left knee went from being fine to so bad that two walkers had to walk me off the mountain. One took my bike the other lent me his walking poles. Without their help it would have taken several...

Re: Freak failures
Yesterday while checking out the Commonwealth Games XC course at Cathkin Braes I snapped my chain. Simple enough to fix apart from I could not find the chain!! It had flown off into the distance somewhere never to be found again despite my best efforts. Luckily it was only a short walk back t...

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
That sounds like a good plan Ian When you're riding the Barbrook Valley concessionary bridleway the path that you exit on is the one further to the East rather than the one marked on your GPS route, it wasn't obvious at the time but there are a few posts marking the way. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/m...

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
Well yesterday I went back and finished off riding the remainder on the Peak District ITT (armed with new brake pads and many spares). I got the first train off the day from Stockport out to Buxton. Then I cruised out to Parsley Hay and then somehow resisted the temptation of Long Dale and Gratton D...

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
In the end I had to get back to Edale one way or the other. Only stopped due to having no brake pads left so unsafe to carry on off road, I was struggling to stop on the road by that point. Prior to this my plan was simple ride steady and keep moving. Regarding kit I had enough to survive a night ou...

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
I've just arrived at home. I turned of the route near Alport. I'd had no brakes for a while. Just metal plates the spares didn't last long either.... So rode to Bakewell on the road then had a kebab, chips and coke. Lovely :) Then rang the wife I told her I was coming home. Rode back to Barber Booth...

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
I have to get round in a oner because I've only got a SOL emergency bivvy bag and a light down jacket!
Don't fancy sleeping out in that.
Also means I'll get to collapse on the sofa at home and watch the Tour of Flanders afterwards
