It is indeed the NeoAir that I use, full and 3/4. I have also got an Alpkit inflatable and that is also easy to inflate.
The NeoAir comes with the bag thing to inflate mind, but I have not used it apart from testing at home.

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
And looks like Tom Pidcock is doing the vuelta :-bd Any info on what his plans are for the XCO world cups? I wouldn't mind seeing more of him in this field and he once said he's a mtb'er at heart. Also if it means that the Swiss riders see less gold. May the better rider win. No but my info source ...

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
I've seen comments about the ramp must be there in the race if it is during practice according to UCI rules, is it run by the UCI or is it run by the Olympic gravy train and has its own rules? UCI rules apply. The same goes for other sports, Swimming for example is FINA, triathlon run under ITF rul...

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
Yeah... not a fan of FP. I think that is a bit harsh. She is technically not as competent as Neff, or many of the others but physically she has the edge for the climbs and uses that to her advantage. She has every right to get in front on the climbs and take the descents at her pace, not the pace o...

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
Reading more into it, I think the referees/commissaries cocked up, but MVP was also the only rider who had a problem. It seems like the ramp was intended for the women's, but not men's race but both practiced at the same time. I'm not sure why as for the practice event in 2019 it was removed for bot...

Re: Why?
Surely as well all that moisture will add up over time and collect in the mat? A Neoair valve is so small, I reckon it would be very hard to effectively dry it out. But as others say, its just way easier to use the inflation bag! (As a side note, my wife's NeoAir did have to be replaced because it ...

Another video here from 2019. You can see the B-line and you can see Evie Richards being the first who uses it. I know she has been training, so hopefully, she nails it tomorrow. Time penalty looks limited mind.

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
Cycling weekly quote him Mathieu van der Poel says he didn't know a ramp on the mountain bike course during practice laps, situated on the downhill section where he crashed, would be removed for the actual race. He clearly says Practice Laps, unless they've miss-quoted him or they just made it up? ...

They are wrong. Either something is lost in translation or MDVP chose not to practice the course.sean_iow wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 7:20 pm Cycling weekly think it did

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
Here is a video from the 2019 test event below. No ladder in place and this would also be the case for the full race. Maybe, potentially, it was there for a course walk - but not for official practice.

Re: Tom! Pidcock!
That's 2 Ineos riders that can wear a gold helmet when racing. The trip over the bars from Matteu Van De Poel was very dramatic, surprised he carried on. There didn't seem to be an alternative to that section, the course was pretty brutal I could see why full suspension was de regeur. The practice ...

Re: Why?
I always aim to dry the mat out after, which is sometimes easier than others. Left somewhere warm with the valve open for moisture to leave.

Right hand, 9 speed shifter only. Ideally with the grip in good condition.

Re: Matt goes to King Alfreds Way
Goes off to work out which kidney to sell, so I can afford some DT Swiss GRC 1400 SPLINE®'s, in 650B flavour, and a Lauf Grit SL... The wheels are not GRC 1400, something much cheaper I would imagine. I had a set of DT 240s hubs on rubbish, narrow rims so had those rebuilt by Jon at Just Riding Alo...

Re: Matt goes to King Alfreds Way
Given that this is the furthest outpost of civilisation, I can only imagine how busy something like KAW might get. If the route was Mid Wales I would agree, but this is already a populated area and the tracks are well known. The South Downs Way has been something cyclists have done for as long as m...

Oh and maybe the bit where you scattered the geese out of the way beside the river might upset the anti-racers... Where did you encounter the woman putting sticks on the path? Happens a lot round here sadly. If it looks like I was going fast through the geese, I can promise I wasn't  T...

Haha, I wasn't going to post it and hope this doesn't get deleted like the post someone put up on the FB Group!! I think the only person who might have a moan about me riding would be the lady with a dog who I interrupted as she was trying to put sticks across the track. The only thing I would add is this time of year there will be areas where the ferns are up and certain paths and tracks will be a PITA.

Re: Llandebr hill/Builth/surrounds locals
A little further north than Llanbedr is Aberedw and that is another great mountain, loads of tracks that are not on the map, although often used by bikes. Further east Forest Fields has some great tracks, although that is private so maybe best not to wander in there without permission. Llanbedr I ha...

Re: 2.5 seasons down sleeping bag
Maybe consider the Alpkit Pipedream 400? I have tested both 200 and 600 and while both are good for summer and then winter, I think the 400 would balance the use well for just a single bag. The 200 I have used down to 1 degree, much lower than the comfort level, but that was close to the limits of t...
