Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

FFS! Was planning on getting out tonight, but had zero sleep last night, and appear to be coming down with a throat infection. This is after being on-call for a week, and then having a mystery virus for a week... 😞

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Feeling like I'm starting to get over a virus that's semi-flattened me for the last week.
Didn't spend any money today either.

Capitalist madness...

Re: Are you analogue?

I'm definitely an analogue (in my own way). Don't know how to adapt/change much when it comes to tech. Today I was told I need to send an uodated CV as work is scarce. I've tried to go and edit using WORD or PDF but both are paid versions now. Stuck trying to figure out how to make a simple word fi...

Re: Do you like choice?

I was talking to my wife about the tyranny of choice the other day. Totally paralysing... Take paint, give me the choice of A or B and I can make a decision, give me 16.2 million colours and I have no idea where to start. Also feeds into the fear of failure: if I have too much to choose from, as the...

Re: Are you analogue?

I'm in a quantum superposition, both analogue and digital. Some digital things are just better and more convenient, but also have no soul. Analogue on the other hand, fragile, wear out, can be a complete pain in the arse, but I wouldn't swap for the digital equivalent.

Anyone from the flat lands fancy an East Angular Winter Bivvy...? Boab...I'd be up for that assuming dates work out. I've always enjoyed the winter bivvy, although last years welsh one got snowed off... Anyway, I'm in East Anglia (Bury St Edmunds way), be interested in tagging along. Have to say, t...

I'm going to give this route a bash next year; there I've said it, can't not do it now. Can't see me getting round anywhere near that fast though! Might get one of those Restrap carry harness things for those two big HAB sections. I wouldn't bother with the strap on Boab - the carries aren't long e...

Fitted, and test ridden. Most likely threaded one of the bolts, as they appear to be made of cheese. Also looks like I need to service the clutch again after the repeated dunking on the BB200.

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Do the male parts of the bolts thread directly into the chainring? Yes, did a bit of googling early this morning and found a thread on the other forum talking about the 30t being threaded. When I got the gravel bike out this morning I had a quick look and yes, it's threaded. No idea how I missed th...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Switched bikes and started to take the cranks and bottom bracket off the Scandal. Took a bit of effort and some skinned knuckles, but they all came off without too much issue. Put the new Hope stainless bottom bracket on, then fitted the cranks and then the pedals. Went to fit the chainring and foun...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

I’m curious how the bumper bar works out since I’m tempted to get myself one I'll find out tomorrow when I ride back from dropping the car off at the garage. Fitted and bled the new brake lever, also put new pads in front and back. The lever action isn't exactly short throw, so I might have to do i...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

After two weeks of procrastination and literally doing anything, sanding and oiling the kitchen worktop for the first time in three years for instance, I've finally started to rebuild the RAG+. Drilled out a broken stem bolt, so I could refit the original 90mm stem, as the 100mm one I had been using...
