Re: New website

Thank you all ... adjustments are being made. Trying to get something responsive across all platforms is a real PITA.

Another Dynamo Q

Hopefully a very simple one ... if you use a Kemo do you need a 'buffer battery' downstream of the device you're trying to charge?

My understanding is that the Sinewave controller doesn't - is that correct?

Re: Oooh a new stove.

Are you still planning to supply the whole caboodle stu, stove, wires and windshield?
Yeah, everything as a kit. Stove, windshield, supports, fuel bottle and instructions ... I know most people ignore these but it makes me happier

Re: Oooh a new stove.

How's the mug/pot supported? Is there a ledge or cross piece inside the windshield or does it perch on top?
Pot's supprted on 2 stainless rods / wires. Windshield is 90mm high so everything fits inside a Mytimug or similar :-bd

Re: Squealing Front Brake

Those will work fine, 160mm F+R is okay as long as your not going mad.

What size are the discs at present? You'll need new adaptors if they're not already 160mm (which I suspect they're not).

Re: BB200 - 4 Weeks to Go

What is the minimum kit you have to take on this event?
Sleeping bag
One of the following: Tent - Tarp - Bivvy bag
F+R lights
Mobile phone

Anything else is down to your descretion (and hopefully common sense)

Re: that new alpkit cooking stuff...

Much of the new stuff is re-branded Fire Maple ... nothing wrong with that (it's good stuff) but nothing that exciting either. If the price is right, I can see the Jet Boil clone proving very popular. Pure speculation but if there's a Mytimug / cup combo I imagine it might look something like the Sn...

One other thing I'm wondering about is what's the feeling on using footpaths? If I'm out on my own and it looks rideable, I'll ride it. When cars stop driving on the pavement, I will seriously consider not cycling on footpaths. I ride a lot of Mountain Bike Orientering events and the rule is Keep O...

I camped there last year, and will again this year, but £15 a night, when the prices on their site state otherwise. Think he's milking it a bit.
I'll have a word and see if a deal can be struck ... I'll let everyone know soon.
