Re: Where the bridleway ends...
I agree with JackT and Faustus on all this…. I see RIP may choose NOT to ride up the footpath to Scafell if it’s busy (it’s ALWAYS busy these day, not least because BBC North West Tonight have a clip singing the praises of the Lake District every couple of days, and generally promoting tourism and J...

(I’ll be on the Fatbike Sunday afternoon for a shortish ride for a bit of lunch at the pub, but there’s no mud….

But keep me posted

No I didn’t put anyone to shame… nor do I want to… Read about your heart to heart on the other topic, then your health problem… It’s useful when so many friends can give different angles on it, everybody has a perspective (of their own, and that’s why everything is absolutely fascinating)… Now then ...

It was that Shaf what did it  , suggesting MTL Saturday November 6th... I thought maybe that's a good idea to shake off the cobwebs, or have a mind altering experience... Anyway I signed up for it along with 3 others including Shaf. By the Thursday before, rocket powered flapjacks had been ...

Hi Allen Thoroughly enjoyed that over a pint of tea. Definitely not too long. Having done the outer loop a few times and the inner loop once it was just nice remembering the whole atmosphere of the route. The Allt Garbh Buidhe is definitely not a place to fall off  If you turn left at the e...

Re: Big Agnes tent experts......
Having more money than sense in September I went for the Fly Creek HV UL 1 (carbon fibre) and super light…. And super expensive. I liked it. First night out on the Mary Townely Loop it rained all night with strong winds, but the tent was secure and I was bone dry and snug and warm. On my fourth pitc...

Hi Bridget/Joe I’m a bit like JC “I don’t need this....I don’t need this” etc. But one comment if I may: As this is a very honest site, and says what it means, I think it would be a good idea to try and state the country of origin of the products.... Not thinking specifically of Brexit (I believe in...

I’ve learned a lot from this site, so thank you to all the contributors. And for that reason I have to contribute a little something in return... I was (and still am) predominantly a rock climber and mountaineer. And I was born in the middle of the war (that one, the second) In my day when you met s...

Good read that Jimmy, thank you. Suffice to say we are all individuals and thank God for that. Another angle to this plague thingy can be considered in terms of evolution. We’ve got this far because our immune systems have had to adapt, and fight... And make the species stronger. I mean you didn’t t...

Re: Canister refill adapters.
I’ve just bought one of these adaptors... To refill MSR ISOPRO canisters (net weight 110g, gross 211g), which cost £7 for 226g Amazon ! A bit confusing, must mean the weight of the fuel is 226g (3.1p for 100g) £4.95 for 7.4oz (210g) from Blacks, same Go Outdoors (net is 4oz, 113g.... therefore 4.4p ...
