Re: Best Saddle and Shorts for ITT’s and LD XC Racing
My Crikey, how much cargo bibs arrived today. All looking pretty good, well made, comfy etc. However I have to admit to being pretty disappointed.... At £195 I was kind of hoping they would sing to me or arrive on the back of a golden condor or something. As it happens they just came wrapped in a pl...

Re: Long time no read
Hi there. Welcome back. I’ve come onto the forum since you’ve been gone. Thanks for talking about your mental health. I’m an ex- serviceman and have had my own troubles with my mental health. This year is the fifth anniversary of my recovery from all of that. Glad to hear you are on the up. Glad to ...

Re: Forks
I’d like to add x-fusion forks into the mix. I just fitted a set of Slide 29er forks to my Fargo. £200 brand new. 80-120mm adjustable travel. 32mm stanchions. I was very sceptical but am impressed so far. They are working very well. I’ve dropped the travel with no problems. They have the option for ...

Re: Suspension Seatposts and Stems
That's a very kind offer, I'm 80kg +- 2/3 most of the time so 2.1 at about 25-35 psi, I hope will have some comfort in it without being too draggy. If it doesn't work to well, I'll msg you to see what I could borrow and try out. I’ve been running 2.1 Nano’s at 22-25psi with an all up rider/bike/lug...

Re: Six Moon Designs Deschutes
Not sure if the 8” peg is strictly needed but the front line does take more load than the rest.
If you go on eBay and are willing to wait a few weeks for delivery from China you can get very light ti pegs for much cheapness.

Re: Best Saddle and Shorts for ITT’s and LD XC Racing
Interesting topic. Think the replies just show how personal this is. I go all out for old Brooks leather saddles - they don't wear out. Fargo has a Swift titanium and Krampus a B17 narrow titanium. Related to your other post I sometimes use a USE shock post for 24hr ITT’s when I don’t need a seat pa...

Good stuff. Down 1kg this week. Didn’t starve myself or anything to do that.
Rapidly approaching target weight.

Great work drjOn. Always interested to see the stuff you are working on. Don’t want to rain on your parade but have you seen these: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/accessories/thorn-accessory-bar-mk2-t-shaped-105-mm-extension-254-mm-0-deg/ Other lengths available as well. 31.8mm for the Tokens. Don’t know how much bulge the Jone’s have but you’ll probably be fine.
I’ve a set I put on my Fargo occasionally. They’re cheap and cheerful but I find they work well enough/are comfortable enough.

Re: Best ss set up
Have used all options for Rohloff rather than SS but the principle is pretty much the same. I’d go with EBB and adj. dropouts in joint first. EBB on a Thorn and Salsa Alternators have been faultless. Horizontal slots on my Krampus are ok but do slip occasionally even with a tug. Getting the wheel in...

For an MTB I’m all about the Ergon’s. Mine are old, don’t remember the exact model but they are the slimmer type with intergrated carbon bar ends.

Re: Six Moon Designs Deschutes
I have the Gatewood which in most respects is like a Deschutes excepting the hood and smaller floor space of the Gatewood. It pitches fine on uneven ground, never managed to pitch mine on anything else. I got mine unsealed and used it a while (including rain) that way. It worked fine with only a bit...

Re: Remote fork lockout lever. Dropbar options?
Possible but don’t think that’s the solution I want. I may just end up getting the Sugru onto the fork leg dial to give me a bit more grip

Remote fork lockout lever. Dropbar options?
What options exist for a fork lockout to fit drop bars either on the 31.8mm or the 23.8mm section. I guess I could use a LH brifter as i’m using a Rohloff but that’s an expensive option even second hand. Maybe a thumb shifter? My internet trawling hasn’t really found anything except a Suntour remote...
