Re: Anybody been ill after bikepacking

Water bottle with a top for me too (from Halfords) I have added a cord loop to ping the top off when wearing mitts.

Scotroutes : The picture doesn't show - would be interested how far you have got with the design !

Re: Making a Numo mat less cold

I use a "topper" made from that silverised bubble wrap on top of my airbed. It is torso length and held in place with 3 mm shock cord loops. It seems to improve things.

Re: Winter reading recommendations?

Julian Sayarer wrote a good book about cycling around the world (and his reasons for doing it) based on the politics of adventure. His book about being a cycle courier in London is good too.

As new condition, comes with one elasticated velcro strap

This is the traditional "bent wire" design, not the HD version.

Re: Has anyone used a sunrace 9 speed 11-40 cassette?

Not a Sunrace, but I put together a Ghetto 9 speed 11-40 based on a Shimano cassette.

It works well with a Tiagra long cage rear mech if you are on the drop bar route.

Re: Help me with 1x10

Stick with the goat link. I am pretty sure that you cannot use 10 speed mtb rear mechs with 10 speed stis, but 9 speed mtb mechs like you have work. Richpips had a note about this in his classifieds a while back.

Re: Trecastle to Tirabad Road - Opening times ? Now provide

I have just received this : The road that leaves the A40 at Llywel heading north over towards Tirabad. This road is generally open for the public to transit, but I would ask that on the day before your travel you call my Ops room (01874 635599) and get confirmation that the road is open just in case...

Trecastle to Tirabad Road - Opening times ?

This is the road that goes through the Sennybridge military area. Does anyone know if it is usually open to the public - I have had a bit of a google looking for a phone number to confirm but no luck yet. I know that the Cambrian Trail goes through the forest nearby, but will be on my road bike. Man...

Loose plan is to leave Bristol after work 6 ish via Ashton Court / Festival Way for a beer at The Crown in Churchill and find somewhere nearby to sleep. Friday morning head home using bridleways where possible via Blackdown, Bu...

Mike Parker on The Bike Show podcast

I just stumbled on this very enjoyable rolling interview with Mike Parker : http://thebikeshow.net/ it covers maps, cycling, Wales...so maybe of interest to the forum. Mike Parker's book "Map Addict" is a good read and he is a nearish neighbour of BB towers too. There are several more bike...

Not second hand but ...

I saw a frame bag on the Lomo website. I have not tried it myself but £ 23 sounds OK and all of their other stuff is pretty good.

Also benp1 sent a link to the KTM seat pack a while back which is good value.

Good luck
