Re: Bivvy a month 2019

6/6. 8th in a row, and as Scotroutes says the fourth & final solstice to make our equinox/solstice for a year. I did offer to channel the inner Ramsay Bolton with Ross but he wasn't particularly keen (what's a little flaying between friends, eh?) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/4810810...

Re: Solaris: drop bar conversion?

So far I've tried the Velo Orange 'Caseys Crazy' bar, the Alpkit 'Confuscius' thingy and the On-one 'Geoff' offering.
I thought it was a bit too obvious... (but decided to ask anyways...).

Re: Solaris: drop bar conversion?

Would it not be easier just to put on a Jones bar (or something) on the Solaris?

That abomination of Stu's (no offence intended  ) is a solution looking for a problem...

Re: Synmat leakage

Not exactly much help, but I've found Exped warranty has been decent (a simlar mat to yours, baffles burst, and the pump bag rip you saw me do on the recent MM200-ish thang).

Both were replaced without issue.

What the go to GPS these days?

Yeah, yeah, I know. But (genuinely) asking for a friend.

I've an Oregon 600 which does me (and more than I use it for... ).

I've a mate who was about to order an Edge something or other. I don't think that's the best option.

So, whats the go to GPS unit these days?

Re: TD 2019 rigs ('bikes' for the English speakers).

I've just checked and the article is definitely titled rigs, no mention of bikes or even steeds  Aye , but the first bike set up the guy talks about his iron horse... after that I just looked at the pictures.... :-bd The Specialized of the lady (Ms Hayes) from Salida had me thinking, now that...

Ha, not much chance of it getting ‘melted’ in the sun at the moment. More likely to get brittle in the cold and snap!

4x shimano RT66 rotors, a KMC 11 speed chain for chubby tyred wheels. A 29x2.4 wtb Trail Boss G2 tyre (definitely a different beast from the old smaller one), 10mm rise renthal fatbars (to lower the front end of the FS) and some decidedly orange hope headset spacers. And even yet I have a void where...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

I finally got around to fitting my front ‘fender’ (that’s its just a piece of cut floppy plastic and would deform when I put the bike in the car with the front wheel off put me off...). Also put some ‘protective’ tape on the contact points of frame bag so I don’t get polished points (especially on t...

Re: Todays ride

Yesterday I attempted the Loch Ness 360. I’ve been pretty stressed at work the last week or two, booked a week off and needed a ‘challenge’. I had intended heading out on my new FS but a check in with an old mate and the gauntlet was thrown. I knew that I wasn’t really fit enough (to keep up with my...
