Re: Active travel carriage on WH railway line.

Need these peak season in the Southwest, the most I have seen on one train was 13 bikes, previous train was cancelled, better bike storage is needed across the board, I get the feeling we are being forced off Cross country trains by the stupidly small bike spaces and onto the local level trains.

Errr no, but then I gave up on drop bar antics a few years ago, I see the appeal of it, shifters will work okay too I recon, I'd prefer Shimano for that.

Microshift

Anyone had any experience of the Microshift Advent X gears? The cassette on my Sram set up is getting very tired and I never liked the shift lever so I am looking at changing over to Microshift, I quite like the look of it and it seems very budget friendly.

Re: Plus or Fat

I love my fatbike, this is my second one over the years, even on normal trails they are a mass of fun and they are great conversation pieces with people you meet on the trail. I am lucky, I have about 14 miles of beach to play on, it is a fecker when windy but I love it, mid winter is the best time ...

Re: New Alpkit Tents

Looks very much in style to the Vango Banshee I picked up last year, I am tempted to upgrade, the thought of trying to inflate the tent when it is windy and raining is not floating my boat, extra weight with the poles but I would wager a far quicker assembly time.

Good luck with the diet change Loki. I have bad rhynitis and sinuses all year round depending on dust/stuffiness/chemicals/sprays, but never found any improvement whatsoever with cutting out dairy the few times I've done it. I do get a bit of hayfever if I'm around big rape fields in particular, bu...

I bought a complete bike in January, Surly Wednesday, and I picked up a Surly Bridgeclub frame 2 months ago. I have a friend who is looking at a Cotic Escapade, they are not offering any Shimano drivetrain options just Sram.

They were bonkers tough, I saw a modern review of an old 70ft Vosper motor torpedo boat, incredibly hard to steer on calm seas let alone under fire and in less than ideal conditions, I have up next the operational history of the German S boats, another good book to rear is D-Day through German eyes,...

Battle of the Narrow Seas by Peter Scott, I have been reading quite a few books like this recently, the book is based on the mission logs of the MTB's and MGB's of Coastal Command during WW2 from the fjords of Norway to the Mediterranean, quite an exciting book.

Twentyfour12 is still going, they are planning this years event now, I have don't it a few times, always a winner as I love the Newnham Park course outside Plymouth, I think insurance and trying to trying to make it entertaining killed most of the events off, that and a swing to more enduro events? ...

Normally I bring main meals with me, snacks I get from local stores or a bakers, Co-ops are a god send in the southwest, grab a sandwich on the go, I stopped for a pizza once while in France, the weather was cold, damp it was epic.
