Re: BB200 on a drop bars bike

the rocky river bed Didn't notice that bit. :-S Must have done it in the dark. In Hafran Forest, it's the next to last descent before you get to the ford. Not really a river, it's a washed out steep fire road that has a stream running down it for about half its length. I think that's the one anyway.

There's a village on Orkney Mainland called Twatt, there's only one road sign to it left now!

There were a lot of concerned people Sunday morning after he had overtaken them by the cafe but not arrived back. (Not concerned enough to cycle back and lol for him though  )
He turned up eventually with a big smile on his face so (probably) no harm done.

Ladies trackies are comfortable. Slippery slope Greg will be in a dress for it next year ;) I was by the bridge in Llanidloes getting stones out of my shoes around 10pm on Saturday night when a bearded bloke walked past dressed as David Walliams' "I'm a Lady!" character from Little Britai...

Re: Cafe alert - BB200

Is there anyone who rode the BB220 who didn't use the cafe? we complained about the last 15km; how much complaint would there be if the 2017 route didn't go past the café, or if the café didn't open. Well the route is different each year so there's no guarantee next year's route will even g...

Cheers Dee and Stu especially for putting up with my "expectant father's" pacing around this afternoon. Despite the endless cups of tea today, I still needed two cups of coffee to make the drive home.

No picture handy to be able to link to but my bike will be similarly laden but without the water bottles and fuel pods as I'm using a small Camelbak for that stuff.

Oh well, back to plan A. The replacement Exped mat didn't get delivered this morning, it needed to be signed for and the builder who was going to be around rang earlier to say he wouldn't be there  So rather than have a super comfy 9cm deep mat I'll be on the Klymit X-Frame, just hope it doesn'...

Re: BB200 navigation

Seriously......Stop packing for your fears. You only need one gps unit. If it fails (and how likely is that) then just bail on the road back to the finish. Either ask for directions or rip a page out of road atlas to take with you. If you're doubling up (or even tripling) on this, what other stuff ...

Remember seeing the community centre when doing the winter event (I was checking out the back for somewhere to kip officer, honest! ) and seeing the cafe marked on Google maps when tracing the route. Somehow I don't think they'll be open when I get there.

surely a hotel is within the ITT rules? not cached, outside assistance, available to all. Ah but it's already booked, so that's a no.
