Never had that problem on mine, I suppose it's the rake of the fork that does that sometimes.

Re: 29+ decision time: Knard vs Chronicle. The Chubbening

I've both sets to chose from. Rode 3000 miles on the Knards. Swapped to Cronicals and although they offer better grip when wet they are slower and don't roll as well as the Knards. So after about 200 miles the Knards went back on and they are still on.

Re: The post man's been ...

Not the postman but Keep Pedalling saw me coming today and sold me this from Wildcat our favourite bike backing company https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8705/16770289199_1282cab89f_z.jpg The problem is the frame and fork are still 2 or 3 weeks away so all I have to show for it is is and a bit of an im...

Re: Carrying water

How do people do this? Partial or ful frame bag? How much do people take? I used to use a revelate tangle which meant I could fit a big bottle underneath (using some 'strap on' bottle bosses in a lower position) but have just got a secondhand full frame bag. Seemed like a good idea. But where do I ...

29er+ for me but do I ride with Knards or Cronicles? After riding on some local sand this morning (very early before work of course  ) the FrankenCross is coming for a play as well. I'll chose the best bike on the day after a test ride on Sunday to guarantee me a place in the mid table medioc...

Re: Lauf Fork review

I'll bicycle up the handlebar Heath Robinson camera holder thing when I get a few minutes and when it's daylight, then have a go filming it in the street for you. Video done https://vimeo.com/122529819 And no it doesn't dive under heavy braking, in fact it rises when the rear wheel comes off the gr...

Re: Lauf Fork review

Thanks for that review John, still seriously considering for my even more aged bones. Was it ok with steady climbing in and out of the saddle? You mentioned more aggressive climbing but when you are just winching up is all OK? It didn't bob at all when climbing when seated or in a low gear, in fact...

Re: Lauf Fork review

John, how does the Lauf perform under braking? Is it inclined to dive a bit? I've no idea to be honest I didn't notice it over the weekend even on the few techy bits or local trail centre that I rode but I don't think I slammed on at any time and it's just gone dark outside now. I'll bicycle up the...

but I doubt they were using it as intended. You're not wrong there. If you are happy with your air forks then DON'T down grade to these. If you're happy with rigid forks DON'T upgrade to these. But if you ride rigid bikes and like them but want to take the "trail buzz" out of XC riding ov...

Re: Lauf Fork review

Interesting change from regular fork design. Is there a finite life on the carbon spring elements? The leaf (Lauf) springs are Glass Fibre and Lauf give them a 5 year guarantee but if they go wrong after this Lauf claim that they will help you out. http://laufforks.com/lauf-trail-racer/ And they we...

Re: Lauf Fork review

When climbing I didn't find any problems at all with bobbing but you will notice the top of the wheel moving side to side about 5 to 10mm either way when really going for it but the forks can take it. It just a bit un nerving to start with. Yes there is a bump stop which I think I hit in the freeze ...

Re: Lauf Fork review

Here's a couple of minute video filmed on a selfie stick fixed to the dropped bars. It shows it in action over a couple of 18" drops and on the typical gravel roads that we ride our rigid bikes on. It really does "Absorb the Ride", 100 miles of comfort on it's Titanuim frame and brook...
