Looks good Jase but is that £200 for the whole bike or just the frame?

WTD: medium hardtail 26" 135mm

Morning team My daughter sat on her bike for the first time in a year and unsurprisingly the small frame no longer fits her. So I'm on the scrounge for a medium size (17-18 inch I imagine) hardtail frame. Needs to take 26in wheels, discs, straight steerer and ye olde 135mm rear end. A steel Inbred w...

Re: Fatfighters 2019 Weigh-in Thread

Right. I'm back after a lengthy absence during which I seem to have ballooned to 101.5kg at my peak. That scared me. So I made some changes a few weeks ago, added more motion to my day and this morning tipped the scales at 98kg flat. Back. On. Track. 01.01.19 - 98.2kg 04.01.19 - 98.1kg. 11.01.19 - 9...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

I just took a moment to fix a puncture on the front tyre of my OO Fatty to discover that pretty much every spoke at that end was loose and the wheel a saggy mess. I don't know how it was still standing. Anyhoo, 15 mins with the spoke key and she's back to as roundish as I can be bothered to make it ...

I really have to draw attention to my lie-ins pun.

That was quite clever. I missed it, me, but seem to have a 'roo loose in the top paddock today.

Re: Three Lions Tour: June Chilterns beerpacking

Nope nope nope nope nope nope .............. My abiding recollection of one of the winter bivvy routes Reg led us on was a figure 8 around Ashridge taking in some of the more deeply mudded patches on the Ridgeway and surrounds. It was a merry frolic, and I didn't realise it until we pass through the...

Re: Lost my Trailshot primary filter

Sooooooooo ,,, I emailed Lyon and turns out they're not the MSR distributors, but they put me onto Cascade Designs customer service folks. Emailed them, they replied 12hrs later and have popped a replacement in the post FOC. Can't fault that. :-bd :-bd And in doing all this, I've been looking at the...

Re: Three Lions Tour: June Chilterns beerpacking

That looks a right dandy bivvy spot there Reg. I think I might give the whole TLS idea a go for this one, depending on the weather, and leave my chair, reading material, extra water bottle, pile of snacks and full change of clothes at home. Maybe.. And I'm actually working on a souvenir of the ride....

Lost my Trailshot primary filter

I think that's what it's called anyway. It's the red cap thing at the end of the hose which I presume takes care of chunky stuff. It came unscrewed and disappeared in a stream on the WRT. I've spent some quality time googling for a replacement, but can only find the cartridge filter replacement kits...

Re: Three Lions Tour: June Chilterns beerpacking

Brilliant Pickers. We're getting the band back together. Now we just need BigDummySteve to read his emails/private messages/WhatApp texts and we might have a quorum. I think a lunchtime start would be better, but will deign to Reg's knowledge of the topography and route. I know the bits between Duns...

Sam, you old lurker. Jane Mary is a saint ... actually, that's two saints.

Reg, I think this needs to be Saturday 15th to do it justice. (Sorry Rich) It has the makings of another annual Chilterns pilgrimage so we need to get it right.

Re: Suggest a drop bar MTB frame?

I had planned for ages to swap the frame for a vagabond frame, but now know I can't use my almost new 100mm forks as its a straight steerer. You can get headset bottom cup assemblies that let you do this. I put one of these (linky below) into an OO Inbred to fit a RS Rev with a tapered steerer. Wor...

Ben have a look at the Eagle Creek Fast Inflate jobbie. It's huge, weighs not much and packs down very small. Ive had mine for two years and think it's the dog's. Not cheap mind. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eagle-Creek-Inflate-Travel-Pillow/dp/B010AZURTS/ref=sr_1_11?adgrpid=50627861222&gclid=Cj0KCQ...

Re: Packed bike weighIn Thread

IIRC I weighed in at 47 pounds. Back home now, and taking stock, I reckon I can drop that to 35 easy. No chair, only a change of socks, can probably do without a book and three different light sources and dont get me started on that stupid big ass bum bag I lugged about, constantly drooping over my ...
