Use a tick fork
They are cheap.
The main thing is to avoid stressing the tick-causing it to disgorge any potentially infected blood into you.
So
Dont smush the the tick or spray it with anything or smother it with anything.
Or expose it to flame.

Re: Possibly daft question
It is also possible that your jockey wheel
Bushes/bearings are worn out.
This process can be accelerated by having a bent/slightly misaligned derailleur cage and or hanger.
Beware of derailleur-spoke interference in the lowest gear after any cage/hanger tweaking however tentative!

Re: 'Cheap' hubs?
I have recently had a wheel built up for me using a sram x7 hub.
Its going to be used as a winter wheel with more a mud friendly tyre.
Using an sp hub on the front.
We will see how it holds up.......
Longest lasting wheels I've ever had are mavic crossrides.
Bought in 2006.
Still going strong ! !

Nice bike
Bit out of my price range.
I too have no telly but have installed itv hub on my tablet to watch the tour.
I am far from being a roadie but am really enjoying the coverage.

Singular kite
Stans rims
Hope hubs
105 group
Hydraulic brakes
Do they still make a 105 triple?
If so get that.
Genetic bars
Thompson to finish.
Saddle and pedals of your choice.

Re: Help a Newbie!
I think a 29er/650b+ mtb is probably more of a versatile choice. Especially at the £600 price point. Rigid forks are best for bikepacking-especially so if the bike is going to be your every day bike.

Re: what size cassette and chainset on your bike???
I run a 36/46 on the cx bike with a 11-28 on the back. Kmc chain 10 speed.
I run a 32 oval on the 29+ with a 11-42 on the back. Kmc chain 11 speed.
I want to convert the cx bike to 28/38 and the mtb to 26/34 keeping their respective rear end set ups.

Re: anyone riding a jones plus? advice needed.
What bb does the surly od chainset use?
I also would like to upgrade my 1 x 11 to
2 x 11.
Is the surly od c/set not configured for 2x10 or will this still work with an 11 speed chain?
Wow. Sorry about all the questions.

I've only met you the once but
1. Bearded Bikepacker. Definitely hipsteresque.
2. I suspect it's only a thin veneer of grumpiness covering a mantle of warm and gentle fluffiness.
3. I don't know. Do you cry at the end of movies? Nibble the topping off twixes?
Stop, pick and sniff flowers?

I like the look of maxxis minion dhf 29x2.3
Large and knobbly but expensive.
I have a singular rooster and I'm thinking of hanging up the chronicle clad wheels and using a schwalbe nobby nic 29x2.6 on the front and maybe a maxxis ardent 2.4 on the back.

Alpkit gamma Not the most lightweight but well balanced with a separate rear mounted battery compartment that also houses a small led red light that has on/off/flashing modes. The front has four leds. The main one which is pretty bright. Bright enough for a back up emergency light. Three modes full/...
