Re: Chain Lube
Muc-Off Wet in current damp conditions, used once in the dry when expecting rain and it was terrible for attracting dirt that instantly turned s filthy black. I was using squirt but have used Halfords dry wax lube with some success. I do wonder, when you're paying £7+ a bottle whether the cost of th...

That's more like it. I had a google and saw all sorts of gels for garden lanterns & indoor fireplaces. Is this the same stuff? It's all new to me!

It also says:
'The FireDragon Gel fuel is an ideal companion for all outdoor pursuits. Whether in driving rain, the freezing arctic or searing heat, the fuel will perform in extreme conditions.'
Someone in the comments says its £13 a litre!

Re: Anyone else not carry a phone?
I'm afraid I'm the complete opposite and take mine everywhere. It's not a 'safety in the hills' thing, it just never leaves my side regardless. Out of interest Nigel, what's the reason(s) you always have it with you? Taking pictures & google maps/mapping on a ride. Any other time I'd be petrifi...

What could you be doing to flat a rim, with 2.4 tyres weighing 10 stone? A Josh Bender tribute?

Re: Charging a joystick with the SP dynamo
There's a twin-female adaptor that you use fir charging the external battery packs that would do it. It's whether the output is suitable for the device you hope to charge.

Re: Charging a joystick with the SP dynamo
I was going on this advice from Exposure: "Warning, do not attempt to power any other Exposure Lights directly from the hub as the unregulated current will cause damage to the circuitry." Do they mean you shouldn't ride with it Illuminated while charging, as opposed to off and just charging.

I'm pretty sure you can't, in the same way you can't put the usb out directly from the revo either.

60 PSI!!!! On the road maybe but off it?!
You've got the same wheels as me iirc, Maddux DC3? I'm running 2.1 Beavers with 25-30 psi (tubeless) and nothing's fallen off yet! A bit more cush can't hurt with the finger issue.

Nearly didn't go out yesterday but basically told to MTFU so out I went. Didn't rain the whole time but my Dakota batteries went flat. Bit of guesswork on the way back!

Re: Gaiters
Only issue is how you anchor the front flap/hook by your toes. A loop of elastic might do it. I'm still tempted by the camo yeti gaiters I linked to above. If your shoes are stiff enough that would solve that problem.composite wrote:You could still get these on with over shoes as well right?

I've made Turbo sessions more effective (and bearable) by: 1. Moving into the conservatory-if it's convenient then I'm more likely to do it 2. Getting a Bluetooth HRM & Cadence sensor and using with my iPhone- much easier to see whats happening on the phone in a dock in front of me than looking ...

Re: Dynamo/light cable routing
Currently using electrical tape but have some double sided velcro I'll be using next time it has a good clean. That sounds interesting, especially as I don't plan on my dynamo being a permeant fixture. Will the velcro not attract the cack though? The stuff I've got is like a wider version of the ve...
