Re: What you done t' your bike today

Will be pulling the Reba fork off in favour of the rigid on the Big Bro for the winter and probably before the BB200, more than likely be hanging the Full suss up for the winter for the arrival of the slop around North Wales bridlepaths etc

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

I certainly didn't have the (bowling) balls to bed down on the green itself  the security lights were very sensitive throughout the night and with houses just over the hedge I thought best stay out of view but did also remove the Tango can from under my bench and a few others from around the in...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

September BAM inbetween my days and nights :| I had serious doubts over this one as I really couldn't be ar**d for some reason and especially after steak & chips for tea, but just after 9pm I sprung into action with a vague plan to get out and get it done seems the weather was playing ball and n...

Brilliant pics looks an epic trip mate, wouldn't mind something along those lines in the future having rode the RDGA Geneva to Nice on road bikes a few years back :-bd

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

August BAM Report So guess what, got it done with 59 minutes to spare. Not much to report to be honest, rode for 2.2 mile with a massive 157ft of climbing at 23:01hrs and leaving for home at 04:32 for another equally demanding ride of 2.1 mile and 49ft of climbing with a partially loaded bike carryi...

Going to be keeping an eye to this thread to see if I'm weird or just as normal as the next man/woman. I'm pretty sure we all collect/hoard something which is value to us and us only :-bd , I do get a slight anxiety when the misses says were having a clear out too

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

I think the summer months can be harder to get out in than winter as that's when you have loads of other stuff on to distract you from a bivvy ride I'll second that so much tougher to get out, August for me has been packed up from the beginning of the year and I'm running out of time :| I have Thur...

Re: Audax Tips?

Nice one mate, that last one I did in the Peaks was a Grimpeur (Someone who climbs apparently) :???: 106k 2250m actually enjoyed the route and weather even tho it lashed down for all but 10-15k of it. 2 hilly ones end of August to look forward to now :-bd

Re: Audax Tips?

I've done 2x100k Audax one flat one hilly, both very relaxed events like what was said in previous posts enjoy the atmosphere and the characters you meet there will be a few for sure and full of advice and stories which make the events what they are IMO. I have a few more hilly 100's in the peaks to...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Bit of a late upload for July BAM due to being away, but got it ticked off. Given the weather forecast I opted for the tent over the bivvy bag. So after tea I was heading off up towards the Clwyds through Cilcain up to star crossing with a rough spot in mind with steady climbing most of the way up p...

This shot was taken during the Summer Solstice ride on the dam wall of Alwen reservoir heading up to Llyn Brenig for a lie down for a few hours

Re: Tyre Patches

I'd second using the car / tip top style with the wire on the end only because a mate is a tyre fitter and I have unlimited supply  not needed that many tbh tho but they work well if the tyres had a good clean up before hand, I've also used normal bike tube patches too on smaller holes to get t...

Hip lock for me, only had to use a few times as my bike is never far from me to worry about anyone taking off on it. It works well and is light and small enough to pack away.

Re: Squirt Lube or something Else?

I find Squirt Lube to be doing the job at the moment so much so that I recently bought my 3rd bottle so I've been on it a while, steer clear of Muc Off IMO as it doesn't last long enough if your riding 4-5 times a week or if the weather isn't so good :-bd I believe Smoove lube to good and also have ...
