I have just opened my carbon BearBones poles for my silshelter! Divine.
I just need to work out how to put it up now!

Re: Intentional Weight Handicap... Suggestions?
Some soft and sticky DH tyres and DH tubes. That will provide lots of overload without making your bike a badly handling lorry

Hi, it seems a good idea to have a plastic (or maybe metal) cup to nest in or around my Ti cooking pot/cup, so i can cook n drink at same time. Any advice with what nests please?
Thanks

It says 1 pole to set up, but recieved wisdom says two different sized poles. Before i order from the BB shop, should i consider carbon? And is there an approved way...

Don't weigh 200 g each (torch and battery). This will replace my Led Lenser H7.2...

Re: food options+ preferences
I have similar dietary issues and make my own dehydrated meals. Lentil curry (daal), beef chilli and chicken jalfrezi all rehydrate well. Although you'll need to chop things smaller than usual. I make them with much more butter than usual but otherwise the same. When its ready just spread it evenly...

Re: should i tarp or tent?
Ah ok, my only experience of an old style goretex bivi was that it was pretty fragile too, so would also be vulnerable to ground damage.
Im guessing a more modern item may be tougher?

should i tarp or tent?

If there is something better then im happy to get it. I have a couple of great down bags, in different ratings. So im thinging about t...

Re: where in Snowdonia would you go?
Guys, thanks for the bivvy spots and advice.
I now need to buy a little more kit to make it a reality.
And its payday soon. First on list is a proper inflatable mat, and some bar and saddle harnesses.
then i can go out and play

STOP! go to screwfix and buy the 1" gorilla tape. It costs 1.50 and will do 4 wheels. Then buy dt swiss tubeless valves from crc and stans sealant! Its all ace!

Re: 'Adventure' reading list
My faves are "touching the void" epic story of climbing, disaster and survival. Annapurna by Herzog is fabulous, the first 8000m peak. And a book written by a friend of mine "The longest climb" by Dominic Faulkner. He rode a bike from the lowest point on the planet...the dead sea...

Ford Fiesta newbie...will i die?
Hi all,
Im seriously considering the FF. Im not sure if I can get the time off work yet, but my big prob is my lack of kit. I wont have a bivvy bag , but will have a small tent and a down bag and jkt etc. Should i wait until ive had some solo trips, or immerse myself in the deep end?
