Re: Building a PC

As per the above post Sarden84 on hotukdeals is very knolwedgable.

The big problem at the moment is that graphics cards are at an all time price high. There are very few new ones and secondhand they are selling for more than they were new.

Front dynamo light

I have an SP dynamo laced into a 700c/29er front wheel. I currently use it to charge a powerpack so i can charge my garmin, or aa batteries or my front lamp. I also supplement this with cafe stops and abstracting electeicity with a mains charger. It seems my life could be easier with a dynamo front ...

Re: (Vegetarian) Quality Dehydrated meals: what options might I have missed?

Im pretty sure someone on here used to make their own dehydrated food. They would make a veggie chilli and cook it. Then they would place it in a large tray and put it on the scales and record its weight. It then went into the oven at about 60c for around 8hrs to dehydrate it. Once cooled it was wei...

Re: Iceland from the East to the West?

@Gari that sounds great. I have been before many years ago on a school trekking trip. But at the time i wasnt really thinking bike rides of the future. Me and MrsB are pretty good at being self sufficient so we shall keep planning. Does anyone have any map resources? Is the Lonely Planet guide usefu...

Re: Iceland from the East to the West?

I think late summer is kindest, but as ever the planet is throwing low balls as we try and kill it.
The wind seems generally Easterly at that time, but the large empty interior seems pretty committing.

Iceland from the East to the West?

Im in the super lucky position of being able to finish work very soon. Me and MrsB are super keen to pack as much adventure in before it gets too tough for us. We have recently watched a film with Emily Batty and friends in and loved the adventure. However we found an alternative film of the same ad...

Or just keep your butane only in your bivi bag overnight. It makes quite a difference.

Ruth has just seen the parody and loves it too!

I guess the key is moderation in all things. Riding bikes is always ace. We have never regretted a ride we have been on, but always regret if we havnt been on one.

Im a bah humbug kind of person, and whilst i like spending time with my family and other important friends, im here to say the Festive 500 is brilliant. Re: Whats a 'comfy' singleSpeed gearing for hilly roadie stuff?

Shaf, im concerned about this plan. I work a 10hr shift and a 27 mile each way commute across Anglesey is enough for me to not want to do it the second day. Its now Nov, so the wind is stronger, and the weather a little worse. 40miles in inclement weather can easily take 3 hr with mudguards and a ba...

Trans Cambrian Way in November?

Me and Mrs B have a week off next week. We had thought of 2nd City Divide, or some Peaks adventure but the lockdown has made us reconsider. So, the Trams Cambrian Way? We live in Snowdonia so are used to wet, but i was wondering how wet its likely to be underfoot and will it pose any difficulties fo...
