Re: It's official!

Due to the lower arc of the sun and the high, pointiness of the mountains we lose the sun entirely for just over a month reach year. Not one second of sunlight no matter how blue the skies are from mid-December to mid-January. And even a month either side of that it's down to less than an hour each ...

Promises by Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a2975740667_16.jpg I found this massively underwhelming. Not terrible, not without merit but even after a few more listens to give it the chance the names involved deserve I couldn't quite bri...

Re: What are you listening to now?

Bit of a youthful revival at BDS mansions, the recent addition of a record deck to the west wing and subsequent wallet emptying experience of buying vinyl again means I’ve gone retro, Clash- London calling, Jam- setting sons and now some Stranglers….. Yes! Welcome back to the club! And no, not a ch...

Re: Fat Fighters 2021

My year ever so slightly got away from me. Culminating in a joyous cacophony of incredible hangover and lovely, lovely self-loathing today - yay! Covid failed to ruin the street Christmas Day celebrations with 3 families (and extended visitors) getting together (after a lot of dodging the virus, tak...

My little brother was taken off his bike by barbed wire rigged across a popular trail waaaaay back in the late eighties in sunny Rotherham (I do not miss living there!).

Broke the skin at each side of his neck but the barbs all missed everything important - some proper psychos out there!

Re: Festive 500 anyone ?

I very much like the idea of a nice challenge during said period in order to get me out and riding when I would otherwise be sat in the house shovelling after eights inside me 9-17h and then Turkey leftovers and booze from 17-23h. But.....I live in the mountains and every year I initially start thin...

2022 plans eh??? 1. Stay flexible and don't book anything that isn't completely refundable. 2. Ride my bike a metric crap-ton more than this/last year. 3. Continue my new and (seemingly so at this point) improved approach to health and fitness (leading to something approaching a healthy weight and r...

Don't think so or at least I don't recall.
She did it in 2016.

That was the year I couldn't do it but lent a hand for a bit signing people out as they set off.

Think I might bow out of this for a while. Still can't train due to COVID19 related damage and I think I'll start getting obsessive about the weight gain... which really isn't going to help a mental state that's already pretty fragile because of all the fitness loss. This is what I've done. I've ha...

Not that tricky really, I'll continue to ignore unknown numbers.....unless I'm lost in the hills, close to death and hoping for rescue - then I'll answer.

As a lover of all things fat I think folk often overthink the whole tyre pressure issue. After following random tangent after random tangent I've been spending a fair bit of time exploring a lot of early 80's Nigerian disco and funk - :ugeek:

Things like:

Very aware that it's fairly out there as a genre but there's some gems in there!
