Re: Dorset ideas

A lot of the bridleways inland can be very loose, washed out and overgrown, but there are some good ones too. Really it's luck of the draw. Chesil Beach is a no-biking zone according to their website, but I've ridden my fatty at Burton Bradstock. If you head west up to Eype, Downhouse farm, follow ...

Re: anyone on a jones+

That's exactly what I have done, Velocity duallys fitted with 3" Chronicles, and a set of P35's for other / road tyres.
I've got 4 other bikes of varying ages in the shed but the Jones is my " go to " bike for sure.

Re: anyone on a jones+

Hi, Jones plus owner here, I can honestly say that I love it! If I had to ride the length of the country, on road or off road it would be my bike of choice. It is supremely comfortable, I've done a number of 12 hour plus days on it. It did however take a month or two to get totally "at home&quo...

I'd love to have a crack at it next year, it sounds like riding through Arizona but only a ferry ride away!
Good luck. A post race report would be great. Cheers.

Re: getting started with wheel building

Get the Roger Musson e-book http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/wheelbuilding/book.php He describes how to build your own truing stand, apart from that the only tool you really need is a spoke key. Then it's patience. +1 also, I had never built a wheel before reading this ebook, I have now built 4 wheels tha...

A bit of a nerdy question!

Hello all, I am having a problem getting GPX tracks on to my Garmin Etrex 20, I know little about computers and am trying to download the Garmin communicator plug in through Chrome browser. It appears that Chrome is no longer suitable to do this, I am hoping for some help as what to do next, would a...

Re: Saturated ground.

Would a groundsheet have worked to keep groundwater out in this situation? It would have certainly helped and depending on what it was made from should prevent any water reaching your bags. A bathtub groundsheet can be very useful too, although there is a small risk that any water finding its way i...

:)) Seems like this covers areas many of us visit. There was a topic on the potential closure of the Barmouth bridge recently, but it seems the potential for cuts relating to trails could be far wider reaching. http://singletrackworld.com/2015/10/the-gwynedd-challenge/ There are several propos...

Re: Which part of the world do you live, and do you like it?

Hi, I live in southwest Dorset, 1 mile from "Broadchurch" or West Bay as its really named.
Some lovely bridlepaths inland and some massive cliffs with trails up and over them, hence my forum name as I ride single speed quite often!
Cheers, Rob.
