Re: would you do this?
As others have said Specialized frames often take unusual integrated headsets and some of the forks were special versions with raised crown races. I know this as i have just fitted a standard tapered fork into a 2013 Carve 29nr and finding the right headset took me lots of research. Luckily the Carv...

Re: would you do this?
If i interpret the pic of your crown race correctly, there looks to be a groove below the angled face. This looks like its designed to accept a seal of some sort. If so then a o-ring will do the trick surprisingly well. Do check the angled face of the crown race is the same angle as the C.K crown ra...

Perhaps ditch the multitool - i use individual allen keys, only taking the ones your bike uses
with some searching you will find a lighter spare inner tube a 26" will easily expand. I used a 26" latex tube in my 29x2.4 wheels for years

Re: Tarp tent advice
As someone who uses both i'll attempt to answer Slarges question To match the weight of the Lunar Solo with a double skinned tent you need to spend a lot more money e.g Terra Nova Laser Photon 1 @ £450 The lunar solo will be more spacious with good headroom and a huge porch , good for brewing up out...

Re: Tarp tent advice
Happy Lunar solo user here I have the green one bought from Ultralightoutdoorgear a couple of years ago I didn't seal it from new and it's was fine for about 30 nights over a couple of years until my last trip when it started to leak on the stitching near the beak. Re: Waterproof jacket options
I am a Paramo fan in the winter. A true wear all day waterproof that breathes like a windproof. The problem is it sits in a box from march until october Of the lighter weight waterproofs i was a great fan of the Rab event smock RIP uses although i found the hood too bulky. When it wore out i bought ...

Re: Lightweight bivi / tarp tents
Normally i use a Lunar Solo. But have tried the flysheet of my tent with a groundcloth recently too. Less condensation with the Lunar solo generally as it's better ventilated and because it's a roomy thing i don't tend to touch the walls too much. The tent fly in contrast suffered worse condensation...

Re Nemo meta 1P.
I bought it off Bearbonesnorm. The Meta is a good strong tent but i too went to a lunar solo chasing a weight saving. I use the lunar in good weather and the fly / footprint ( leaving the inner at home ) of my other tent in windier stuff.

@ Alistair ..... pic sent
I find the temp rating of PHD's spot on. I would say it's a comfort rating of 8°C. This is just wearing baselayers in the bag. You might be able to push it a bit lower with a silk liner
