Lomg time since i had oxy but you could only hire bottles.
A mobile welder would be a better bet. I doubt your first ever weld would be good/strong enough

Again agree with stu you cannot really drill stainless steel with a hand drill.
Can the caliper mount be removed or is it part of the suspension strut?
Might be easier to take it all somewhere and get it removed on a bench at a garage or engineering place ( £20 aa a guess)

What stu says
Turm the wrong way if possible to " crack"
Immemse heat ( and feeeze... Not sure what it will do but it ia unlikely to do any harm)
Weld to it and extract
Likely need a garage or welder imho.

Re: What are you reading now?
One of the very few books i have re read and i actually own a copyZen and the Art is possibly my favourite book. I've read it a couple of times, but it's been a few years and I suspect I could learn from it once more.
Really enjoyed it every time i have read and may re read it again.

Re: New (carbon?) wheels
Remember 10+ years ago we were all putting 2.3 tyres mtb tyres on 19 mm internal width rims perhaps even a 2.5. My SS still does with 26 ers
I ride 3 " tyres on 30 mm internal and a 38 mm on a 19 mm ( road) IMHO its just the current trend ( go wider) rather than it really matters

Re: New (carbon?) wheels
My choice would be DT Swiss hubs the ratchet is quieter( near silent) than the pawls.( not a hope but can be heard). I dont like the noisy freewheels /Hope types. Alloy rims but i am 63 kg and dont break them. Carbon just seem more expensive for limited gain. I build my own wheels so not loyal to an...

Re: Wheelset choice
What wheelset?
I have a Prime Baroudeur Disc Rear( Wiggle) about 2 months old running a 38 mm tubeless without issue. Freewheel ia not the quickest to pick up but its fine. Not overly noisy nor is it silent.

It's not like any outset stuff looks good but boy does it work
Pricey though and lightweight would be better as otherwise I think it will be too warm ( esp for summer storms)

I have some ( front and rear) that come from a pro2 evo set ( rear 142 swapped out fine from a 4 to a 2) but not 100% certain they are swappable and only have 2's so cannot check.

Re: Proposed Wind Farm near Glaslyn
Not really sure nimby helps the the debate( why not convince them its a good idea which will be considerably harder than using a pithy label for objecting ) and I don't know of anyone or community volunteering for the waste to be buried where they live. Saying the waste is " vanishingly small&q...

Re: Proposed Wind Farm near Glaslyn
Your use of the word nukes shows you are already biased against nuclear power I used it as my dyslexia was kicking in and forgot if it was nucleur or nuclear so went with an abbreviation ( but yes I have concerns of what to do with the waste. Which I see as a legitimate question and you as bias. Fr...

When you have your storage solution for the waste material we can discuss nukes ( not to mention the colossal concrete costs.) it's at least 10000 years of safe storage we require with no solution so far.. Burying it is likely to be required but who is volunteering. for that in their area. Nukes are...

Depends how long it is before we start trying to save things ( all of us having something worth saving even if it's just yourself)Like I said earlier ... how long before there's nothing worth saving?
We won't reach a point where humanity collectively throws in the towel and we all go to dignitas.

[quote the real key is reducing demand, t. [/quote]
In the future cars and heating are going to be electric so that reduction is going to happen. Green renewable energy is the only solution and it's going to be built where it's generally windy.
