Re: Ireland ... closed until further notice

"i just went out and rode what i found irrespective of legality."

Yeah I did this for 11 years in Tipperary where I lived, not that there was huge amounts. I had a cross bike I rode there alot as much of it was just fireroads.

My wife found it even more frustraiting with a horse

Re: Winter bivi/bothy/hammock gala 2012 (Scotland)

I'm looking at options Innerleithen seems a good start point (whistle stop cafe or chipper) Ride SUW to St Mary's Loch, then up road to Megget and bothy If we included a 10 mile road section the next morning to Yarrowford we could head up the Minch Moor road and back to the top of Inners and finish ...

Re: I'm doing it all wrong!

I had the same problem when we did Mizen Head to Malin Head a few years back, I got the tent, the cookset and the food. She had so much room on her bike she took a full size pillow!

Have fun :)

Re: Tangle bags?

frame is a 16" inbred with only bottle bosses on the downtube so I think any kind of reasonable size frame bag means no usable bottle

think I'll hold fire and see what alpkit offer

will check out buggy bags properly but they look pretty heavy?

It's not because of my dancing either it's because I am covered in a tomato relish.

Small tangle looks like £53 shipped, forgot about import duties and stuff, will I definately have to pay them?

Tangle bags?

Looks like I can't afford a proper frame bag so started looking at these. Anyone got a small tangle? Can you get much in it? Annoyingly even a small tangle will mean the bottle cage on the frame is unusable but that's not a deal breaker as I have 2 fork mounted cages.

Re: Salsa Anything bottle cage

I keep hoping someone else will bring out a better cage, hopefully with just 2 mounts. Failing that I may just buy a pair and get them modified. 2 decent mounts would be far better than the 3 weedy ones they come with.

They might just tempt me to take more stuff I don't need though.

Re: Weigh-in List ... IS HERE

I think te main thing which drove the weight down for me was the fact I I kept a prettly religious spreadsheet on the weights of everything when I was planning, and this gave a real insight into it - it was amazing just how quickly the weight piled on if I wasn't careful. I think I will do this nex...
