Hi Andy,

That sounds ok to me. I work out in Bakewell, so can go from work if it is over the other side of the Peak.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

I have broken 3 15mm sp hubs and won’t buy another. The first went 3 months out of warranty and was replaced by a rebuilt one which lasted about 3 rides. They wouldn’t replace that as it was already a rebuild. I have owned a SON for the past few years and, although expensive in comparision, it has b...

Jase, do you need anything else? I’ve got a box of bits in the garage that I can have a rummage in if necessary.

Re: Etrex users please answer this?

I totally agree with Sean, it is great for following a set route and is less prone to freezing than my old edge 800. If I want to adapt a route I either use a back up paper map or the memory map app on my phone as this is much better for looking at a larger area.

Mine lags when scrolling up/down on the map and takes a while to load the new map section.

Re: Wtd bits for a build

I’ve also got some deore hubbed/alex rims qr wheels that came on my genesis vapour cx bike. They are fine for gravel riding and will take a 10speed cassette. They haven’t had much use as I got given a pair of kinesis wheels and have been using those instead ever since.

Re: Wtd bits for a build

Hi, I have a 2x10 SLX drivetrain (minus cranks) that is brand new and was taken off a bike I converted to 1x11 before riding it.
I have f and r shifters, front and rear mechs and a cassette.
Let me know if it is of any interest and I can send pictures over if necessary.

Re: Bar or Seat Bag vs Bar Holster

Definitely a separate bar bag and harness for Me. Much easier to pack off the bike and allows packing under a tarp/in a tent if it is raining. Not so fussed on the rear-I have both types of seatpack and use both regularly. I usually use a drybag inside the non holster version so don’t use this if I’...

Re: Do I want a Geared Hub?

I have a rohloff on my hardtail and think they are great for winter riding. I never touch it and it just keeps working. The only drawbacks, as mentioned above, are upfront cost and, for me, the fact that you have to back off the pedals slightly to change gear. Although used to it, I prefer the chang...
