Is it a genuine waterproof (in so much as anything can be!)?

Great news for Stu!

Viz reporting ground breaking news! Think of the implications for this forum. Stu can stop with the smoke signals soon. ; )

So is an Ardent on a dually worth the weight gain over an arch? Particularly considering loss of mud clearance.

I managed to break one of the mud cover retaining tabs on one of the montane bottles. I drilled a couple of holes and replaced it with small zip ties.

Re: Bivi Bag

Imagine your breathable material as a fabric with lots of holes in it. Holes too small for a big water drop to go through but small enough to let small steam droplets out. If your bag contains a lot of cold air the steam will condense and the big drops can't escape. In theory it shouldn't matter too...

Cheers. I was idly looking at something in between my Klymit & Xtherm. Palm Oil petite looks a good compromise and is £25.

Would anyone buy a Hyalite AC Peak mat new if it was £35? I seem to recall they were less than reliable.....

At 66g this might be lighter than the surplus inflating dry bag I take with me for my neoair: http://www.facewest.co.uk/Thermarest-NeoAir-Mini-Pump.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=facewestFroogle&gclid=CPLD3pWd4r0CFUcTwwodTL8ANA http://www.facewest.co.uk/pp/msr/SS1...

I'll always still take a liner to stop getting the bag dirty. If this means I can use a tiny silk liner for that and insulation from this both combined would appear to be smaller than a fleece liner.

Apologies to anyone on ukfatbikes while I repeat myself but isn't this just an Element 29er with smaller rims & fatter tyres? Based on my mates short lived element bushings & the difficulty Evans had replacing them I wouldn't be setting off from Banff hoping to reach Antelope Wells on one. ;)

Re: Full-sus Fatty

I don't disagree rigid is better for beaches as by and large they're flat & soft. I'm not convinced wet sand is significantly more destructive than all other soil types save for it's salt water content. All this is moot however, I don't think Salsa are expecting you to take a Bucksaw out to the ...

I wouldn't fancy taking this full susser fat bike anywhere near a sandy beach, once the sand gets in the moving bit's it will just eat it away. Rigid only on sand. I took my full susser on the beach once (there is a certain moisture content level of sand that makes it possible to ride on quite well...
