Re: Lock-down projects

Wow :o That puts my 'writing on wiggle boxes with a sharpie' to shame  That also seemed to escalate quickly, you went form tiding the shed to building guest accommodation in a few easy steps   I should have added, it's the Drinks Den now  https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5...

Re: Lock-down projects

I'm not sure how I missed this thread but here's my project from Lockdown 1. My typical shed with literally everything thrown in. It was so annoying to get a bike out, luckily I had a van at the time which the bike(s) lived in some of the time. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49930795907_24e5ef8...

Re: This weekends Virtual Winter Event - postponed

Don't forget that by putting a quote of the Boris 'rules' on here may not be the same for Wales & Scotland. There are some differences.

Re: January's Virtual Winter Event 2021 (Covid lockdown edition) Jan 9th and 10th

Will probably get the nearest one's to me over the weekend. As Wales has been in a lockdown since 20th December, I wasn't that confident at getting my loop done. I only said last night in a chat that it'll be a good one to do in the spring......

Rear light?

I'm hoping to get some help from you guys, I'm after a decent rear light. I did have my eye on the Exposure Tracer but the bracket sits loose on the chainstay after visiting my LBS and there's also a risk of it going into the spokes. Thing is as I use a seatpack there's no way of attaching to the se...

Re: Sleeping mat cold spot.

As we're on the topic and not waiting to hijack the thread, quick question.... I was tempted to bag my first 'snow camp' the other night but jibbed out. If in a tent or under a tarp, what do you suggest going under the mat which would reduce the cold coming through? My mat is an Exped Lite 5M which ...

I use the Gore C3 Trousers. Can't fault them tbh. During this colder times, I wear some cheapo bibs under them and don't feel any cold at all.

Re: Todays ride

As the hills still had their winter jacket on I had to get out again. This time from the front door up Conwy mountain and up to Tal y Fan (where the snow was). It was a bit deep a fluffy in places but still so much fun. It was a mud bath lower down though... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50791...

Re: Todays ride

Went back out into the hills this morning, this time up to Cwm Eigiau. Better conditions as the snow is firmer for riding on. I even managed a brew at the Cwm too in the remnants of an old quarry building which I've got my eye on for a future bivvy spot. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/507796705...

I'm not sure of the make of mine but they are the half lengths ones, so just come up half way up your shins. I wore them yesterday under my trousers and my feet were dry. They do make a hell of a difference especially when riding in the snow/slush.

We got a snow drop on the Carneddau overnight so today was play time. Here's mine, thanks Dave  I'm starting near Conwy at the top center and heading clockwise. If I bag 2 GR's I'll be happy because the figures to the left look concerning! It might be doable in the summer.... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50769362883_ff8941f897_c.jpg BB2021a by Jeff Price ...

Re: What are your feelings about next year?

I'm not hopeful of much of a change in 2021 tbh. Like most others I feel the first half of the year will be a rollercoaster of mini lockdowns as numbers rise and fall. I'd love to pack the bike in the car for a week in the Highlands but I can't see that happening till at least October. I can't see e...

Went out on the skinny bike today from the front door. I soon hit the coastal cycle path (#5) at Conwy and headed west as far as Abergwyngregyn. It was after the first few miles I realised I'd put the wrong gloves on, christ it was chilly on the fingers! From Aber I headed up the killer tarmac climb...
