Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Agree -we rode together at the Jennride and I made a point of telling him he was riding very well. He was quite happy with his ride, even if he thought he was going too hard. Training pays off. He's done very well.Dave Barter wrote:I think Ian F has had an exceptional ride, brilliant to see him in the top 3.

I've a draft to him sat in my gmail just in case I'm way ahead of time. In a way, it'd be nice to have to use it...doubtful though.

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Did anyone clarify the loch crossing rules? Lee seemed to cut this out without first going down to the loch to check the conditions and then back tracking? But Huw appeared to do the same on his ITT so is this now accepted as ok? In past years didn't people have to go to the crossing point and if t...

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Remember the resolution on the SPOT is +/- 20mins when you take into account both riders.
Anything less than 30mins and I'd not be making any assumptions.

Depends how strong you are - it is rideable up from Kinlochleven....but after what he has done. Descent is most excellent though.jameso wrote:Is that a HAB section? I see Ian has fell-running history, expect that's a real bonus in the HTR.I imagine he'll put up a good show up and over the Devls Staircase.

I wonder how far out they will leave it before some one slowly attacks - Bridge of Orchy?NewRetroTom wrote:Liam and Philip must be pretty much riding together approaching the top of the Devil's Staircase. From the Spots it looks like Lee is about an hour behind with Ian a few minutes further back.

No issues Lars, was happy to review and ride with them. Happy to take them on the Divide too - will post up post TD how they work out.
Weight, it's really not that much extra. Not for what you get with the total waterproofness of them.

Re: 2016 Highland Trail (group start)
Great race among the front group.. looks like Ianfitz has something in the tank at the end, has pulled toward the front well overnight. I'm thinking Ian is using all that BGR conditioning to pull this out of the bag. Really hope this works, he's been riding well in the lead up, this would be great ...
