Ideally eat nowt after 6pm and heading to bed around 10:30 Dark bedroom Drink cherry juice ...

I’ve stuck a few Landranger maps to walls at home with wallpaper paste. It’s tricky, you get one shot because the paper is very absorbent and once wet is prone to stretching. They bobbled up and attempts to flatten the bobbles leads to mess, but the bobbling flattens out again on drying. I wouldn’t ...

I see groups of between 3 and 5 buzzards round here regularly, have never found out if it’s last years with parents. Envious of your hares, a rarity round here these days. And your barn owl. Highlight here is gold crest visiting feeders last few days. Saw first swallows (Shropshire) 10 days ago, jus...

great so many of us here care about this type of thing. As I see it, without going full Greta, the things we as individuals can do are I. Passed two kites sat high in tree the other week, so stopped to watch for five minutes. There was a lone crow in tree at other end of field. One of the kites left it’s perch and headed for the crow to chase it off before returning to its perch. You could almost hear the kites saying “it’s your turn”...

Do you not need to dig into the data a bit more than a word search? 5000 of the 5900 count probably came from 3 or 4 people

A BB app should have one numerical input, which when entered renders the phone dead for that number of hours.

Lot’s of thrushes prominent at the moment, singing their thing at dawn and dusk.
I find identifying birds is helped by getting their song and habitat, then refer to rspb website

I had a long wheelbase T5 transporter, I fitted a rock and roll double seat in the back. Folds down to a double bed. Sits on runners so it can go all the way to the back or the front, making room for a couple of bikes or even a motorbike.

I went for last option. I’ve been riding my Dawes super galaxy on tarmac, sustrans routes and forest tracks for over a decade. The tyres are a bit skinny, so it can get interesting off road, but it does the job. If there’s proper off road - single track, rocks, mud, poor grip, then I take the mounta...

<t>When one of the bladders on my 20 year old inflatable gave up last year I couldn’t source replacement, so bought a two seater SOT and a set of roof bars to fit on the VW camper. Takes two of us to get it on and off the roof, a right PITA. Had to get a small portable step ladder, 20 quid from B&am...

Along this vein, the story of Fram - Norwegian polar exploration ship - and in particular Nansen’s seeking of North Pole, is worth a read. Nansen figured there was a current running under the Arctic ice, so he thought it would be a good idea to allow a ship to become frozen into the ice and find the...

I did something to my lower back about 35 years ago, could barely walk, mucho pain and legs would give way under me. GP gave me pills and told to rest, didn’t work. I bought a book ‘Treat your own back’ by Robin Mackenzie (or similar). Full of physio and info, worked for me. Over the intervening yea...
