Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Saw these offer codes on Superstar's twitter, incl narrow/wide ring for £19.50 http://www.pinkbike.com/news/march-online-deals-march-2015.html It's not really a PSA as it's not an extra discount, but CRC have started doing a cheaper Absoluteblack oval chainring. 32T for £34 - I've bought one instea...

If you look closely on the satellite view, you can see the sand delta jutting out into the loch, which gives you an idea of where you should cross.

I had a mere half a second on the show, but it was enough to prove I actually rode it - up to that point the only photo of me at this year's event was me eating a burger and looking burst.

I bought a pair of the white Flows too, and one is on a black SP hub, the other a gold Salsa. They go on my baby blue Stooge, so aesthetic elegance is clearly unimportant to me. £48 for a pair of rims, which I thought was a bargain.

I'm about to go 1x9 on my (soon to be ex) singlespeed, using a Surly steel ring. I'll report back if it's horrible.

Hang on, I did bivvy under the tourist information thing in the main car park at Blair Atholl, after my Hope hub failed on the Cairngorms Loop and I had to abort the route. It's a bit like a bus shelter  For future reference, the waiting room on the train platform is lovely. No door but bench...

Re: Hardcore or lightweight?
surely a bus shelter is a woosing out?! Depends on the bus shelter, the location and the alternative. I'd say that a bus shelter in an urban area is the height of bravery, whereas something in the back of beyond is perhaps slightly less brave. The shelters on rural train platforms though are the he...

Jonathan Kennett is calling for entries and has had 200 people show an interest and only 100 entries are being accepted so if you want to go to NZ get on it very soon  I'm now in two minds about it. 1800km out of 3000km is on the road, so it's not the MTB ride I had expected it was going to be.

21, but I was let down by my choice of coffee over tea, and the fact the gravy should never be served with chips. Is this a quiz about how much of an adventurer you are, or how much of a Northerner? ;-)

too smelly to get served That didnt happen to me at all last year, but I'm certain I was stinking. Nik Kinloch and I were in the pie shop and an exclusion zone had set itself up around us. Does anyone know if the shop at Rosehall closed or whether someone took it over? When I passed it, it was closing down that summer. Thanks. Something like a 2.5 is what I was thinking, as while I'd like to go 29+ up front, if it's going to roll and burp that's far from ideal.

Fattest tyre on a Flow?
What's the widest tyre folk have run on a Stans Flow? I fancy putting something wider up front, and am sort of tied into using a 29er Flow (as it's in the spares box). At the moment I'm on 2.25 Nics at both ends, on Salsa El Mariachis. One has a Reba if that makes any difference, the other is a rigi...

I had a Cube X Race a few years back. I rode it on trails that I used to only ride on my FS, yet also did a lot of road miles on it. My mate used it for our LeJog. The modern equivalent should be good assuming they've not gone disc for all their models.

How about small hatches on the frame of the bike so you can put stuff inside the tubes? Tent poles, pepperami's.... dry spaghetti. Or fill it with water and attach a hydration pipe to the bottom bracket? Edit - if I see these ideas on Dragon's Den I will be unhappy :ugeek: I've got an extra interna...

I've noticed that, and I've only ever bled due to poor performance and changing hoses. However with Shimano I've not had to bleed when shortening hoses which has been great.
