Re: Rear Lights
I have a Specialized Stix rear light that is excellent. It goes on my helmet, seat post or saddle bag. You can get a variety of brackets. It’s low profile. It’s lasted many years. It’s very bright if you want it to be. It will last through the night but not much more than that unless it’s on flashin...

Re: Alpkit reaches B-corp status.
Brewdog are a shitshow... but that's an aside, there are obviously a ton of properly excellent B-Corp companies. Maybe, but the problem with that is an accreditation system is only as strong as the worst (least compliant) company it endorses. Some of the labels you see on products are so watered do...

Re: Lachlan Bike Packing the Tour De France
Anyone thinking the original TDF riders were the good guys ..needs to do some reading. Cheating was endemic. I particularly like the story of Hippolyte Aucouturier who cheated using a piece of cork and string. The string was attached to a car and he held the cork in his mouth. Brilliant. Almost as ...

Re: Lake District hike suggestions please
Not a high summit but a beautiful spot - what about Haystacks? There are various tarns near the top and the undulating ground means you should be able to get a sheltered spot. Easy route is along lakeside and up Scarth Gap and onto Haystacks. A more challenging route would be the Red Pike/High Crag...

I sleep very well outdoors, more so if it’s without my kids or the dog…. But if I’ve ridden particularly hard or long then I have a struggle to get to sleep. Must be all the excess cortisol and what circulating around.

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th
I took Shaf (RedefinedCycles) over one moorland section last month in horrid wet weather and he only moaned a little bit  Did I actually Luke  Which bit?? During the lovely river crossings where I wondered if I'd make it across or the bit where the Israel-issue helicopter started eyein...

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th
I love Dartmoor and want others to share that too. There will be some pushing on invisible trails, there has to be. It wouldn’t be the full Dartmoor experience without it. The route as it stands only includes 10km or so. In two main sections. There are some other little bits here and there and in fu...

Re: New Ortlieb bar pack
It’s funny how there are long threads about how it’s wrong to copy other people’s ideas. Then someone comes up with a different idea of how to do something and they get fingers poked at them as well. I suppose the problem it is trying to address is the one that all bike luggage is… the how to carry ...

Re: Help oh wise ones (tubeless issue)
Sometimes you get a bit of leak after set up. As Stu says it usually goes soon enough. I just switched my Fargo to a set of WTB Nano 2.1 in preparation for riding KAW and the front is leaking out of a single spoke hole. I’m relying that it’ll fully seal after commuting to work over the next couple o...

Re: Any Salisbury Plain experts?
As with all MOD ranges - no entry to ROW during live firing - see red flags and local range firing times online. During times of no firing no extra permission is needed to use ROW. Don’t go ‘off piste’ or play with shiny things you find on the ground…. The confusing bit is if there is blank firing e...

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th
No offence taken. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden the Fred. I expect this route would go sub 24hrs for a reasonably strong or determined rider. As you know the hills in the SW are steep and flat ground hard to find. My experience is that maybe 3-5% maximum of this route is hike a bike. I would e...

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th
Interested in the route. Who knows what I'm doing on 18th September yet?! I’ve worked pretty hard to get as good a route as possible. One that is challenging and shows the best of Dartmoor. I just need to run through a few changes, I will give the route a full ride over 2 days by mid August and aft...

Dartmoor 200. September 18th
I shall be giving my newly devised Dartmoor 200 ITT route it’s first proper running on 18th September 2021. Tentative plan is to set off from Steps Bridge car park near Dunsford at 9am. My plan will be to ride through ITT style as a shakedown for BB300 the following month. What to expect? 200km and ...

Go straight to Exposure if you can’t work it out. I’ve found their customer service and repairs department excellent to deal with when I’ve needed to use them.

Great idea. I thought about something similar using the side pockets from a old army PLCE bergan. You may have inspired me to go ahead.
