I am going to swerve this one, sorry but I reckon it's going to be horrific out there! I went out last weekend and it took me nearly an hour to go 300M of the worst sticky mud.

In true cheapskate fashion, I have made some rubber bands out of an old inner tube and these simply attach to the cage and stretch over the neck.

I have picked the bike up by the bottle so looks to be OK.

After just doing the Jennride and losing another water bottle, what is the most secure method of carrying water over bumpy terrain? I don't need to access it all the time as I can transfer it to the stem cell when needed.

I have a camelback, but hate a sweaty back.

Any suggestions?

It may have been a case of not enough, but it was topped up before the event.
Its sorted now, once the bike was dry it sealed no problem.

Deore XT trekking, half and half, one side SPD one side flat, so I can wear sandals if it is really hot and not worry about cleats.

I have XM9's and for the majority of what we do they are near perfect. I can't see an alternative that would be any where near as good.

Echo the sizing the XM9's at least are true sizing, I went up a half size to accomodate thicker socks, but would have got away with the normal size.
