Our cat made a surprisingly good ratter. Cleared out our shed. We were pretty shocked honestly.

Re: bit of a strange 24 hours

My bike trip last week meant I was pretty much out of touch for 4 days. It felt odd when I got back and things had been ramping up. The last day was particularly strange as a lot of places I rode through were ghost town like and even main roads very quiet.

SPAR at Llanwrtyd Wells closed

Just a heads up for anyone who might be heading in that area and hoping to resupply at the SPAR in Llanwrtyd Wells. I got there about 6pm Saturday evening hoping to buy dinner and breakfast to cook at Tycornel, to find it surrounded by fences and closed up. The petrol station was closed as well and ...

The rain has often been heavy and not so pleasant but I can put up with that when I'm enjoying the ride. That wind tho...

I've gone with a half gravel setup for a 4 day trip planned for next week. New chain, massive cassette and some 35mm touring tyres for some extra comfort.

Recommend me some gloves

I'm looking for some new riding gloves. Full finger, spring/autumn weight I guess. Needs some padding in the palm and not too high a cuff either.

What do you recommend? :-bd

Re: Adventure Travel Film Festival: I don't want to go but ...

I haven't been to this event specifically, but I did volunteer for the Banff Mountain Film Festival a few years ago when it came through Birmingham. I suspect it would be quite similar and I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting honestly. I seem to remember thinking that I would have been happy...
