Rhayader West ride Nov 9th

I have put together a route that covers a lot of the bits on the northern part of this years Barebones route ie the bits that I rode in the dark. Rest assured it contains none of Stu's nasty bits :? Ian showed an interest in towing me along so thought I would open it up to anyone who fancies j...

Any one know anything about:
Insomnia - http://www.bedgeburyinsomnia.co.uk
Erlestoke Twelve - http://www.erlestoketwelve.com

Looks like Sleepless in the saddle will be making a return in 2014.

Re: 12/24hour, 100milers, that sort of thing in 2014

Been thinking that I might throw in some ITT attempts. Not going to be breaking any records, but there are a number of those long distance routes that I have wanted to do for a while and not got round to.

Re: 12/24hour, 100milers, that sort of thing in 2014

Bontrager 24/12 Better venue & atmosphere than both of the last two Mountain Mayhems. Clashes with the Manx100 unfortunately. Shred Hell of the West. The 2014 date has now been released. Not quite a 100 miles and, hopefully, won't take 12 or 24 hours but it should give your gravel racer/CX bike...

12/24hour, 100milers, that sort of thing in 2014

So next year I really want to jump into a "full season" of endurance races and I'm trying to put together my calender. There are few in my list which aren't exactly this but I'm doing them anyway. :P Events with confirmed 2014 dates, currently I have: Sat Jan 11, There 'n' Back Sun Feb 23,...

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

Can we have a tiny weeny amount of hike a bike please (by tiny weeny, I mean 1 stile, or fence)? Approximately 0.001% of the route requires pushing: a rough gravel track that would be known to many folk who've ridden the BB200. Other than that, I can't think of anything that can't be ridden, even o...

Great to see that you are out of hospital. To be honest when I read the injuries I feared you might be layed up for months.

Re: Could you give my route the once over please?

OK well I'm looking to ride this on Saturday November 9th maybe a 9:30-10am start. I'll be driving down from Birmingham then going on to Newport afterwards. Every one is welcome to join in. It will be nice to have people to ride with on a ride over 20miles. My mates say I do to many unsociable dista...

Could you give my route the once over please?

So I'm trying to put together a route for a day ride that takes in the best bits of the North section of the Bearbones route, but starting from Rhayder. As I did most of North of strata florida in the dark I would like to take it in during the day. :) The route I have planned is here: http://www.bik...

Re: mat inside bivi bag?

I have the Hunka XL as I like the mat inside the bivvy bag. I find it doesn't move around then and there's a little bit of protection against anything sharp I didn't clear.

If expecting rain I have to use a tarp with this setup though as it means that I can't get the hood down over my head.

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

Sounds like there might almost be 2 races going on. The CXers and the MTBers. ;)

I guess 200 miles of fireroad will be considerably faster average speeds than the BB200.

Re: BB200 - What MTB shoes did people wear ?

Northwave Celsius winter boots. I love them and would happily replace them with another pair when they wear out. I had dry feet all the way up till I think the last but one river crossing.

Do you have a totally ridable route in mind or is it "adventure" style :P like the BB200?

If starting in Shropshire I guess the Long Mynd will be part of it?
