Nah, since losing a wife I’ve decided misery is overrated  I think TBD has got it right, keep meaning to give him a shout about a proper luxury bivvy again, I’m talking rack, panniers and a full 5 star outdoor dining experience including cocktails :-bd

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Only on Bearbones, which of course is the only metric which matters  for some reason I don’t show up on ride every tile which could be because you don’t even get a look in until your 51x! Not that it matters, while it’s a little addictive, square hunting is a great motivator. I ride more often ...

Re: The post man's been ...

I keep meaning to break my chain and add a second quick link so I can quickly single speed it in the event of mashing the rear mech, though thinking about the price of an AXS mech I think I’d take the option of curling up in the mud and crying instead

Re: Electric cars - impressive.

Electric car are definitely impressive, in had a Tesla pull next to me on the motorway. I was in the middle lane doing 70 and it was held up by someone in the outside lane, as soon as the other car cleared the thing just disappeared, no getting into it’s stride like even a ‘super car’ it just fecked...

I guess that's why after 12 posts it's still on track and not shot off on a tangent about lighthouses or pineapples or something as usual. Still, the night is young. Pineapples are the devils work, some people actually put them on pizzas, a disgusting perversion :YMSICK: Yeah the hook and loop arran...

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...

Not annoying at all, I can imagine if you if you fitted all this stuff to a gravel bike it would be rather nice as a second bike for rambling about on. A lot of the time I’m over biked when out on veloviewer missions, something a bit lighter and faster yet still capable of a little rough stuff would...

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...

I’d agree, 100mm forks (Fox Factory teralogic) are prefect in the Fargo, I assume that these short travel forks can fit a non-suspension corrected frame.

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...

Finally if you need suspension on your drop bar bike you are either on the wrong bike or the wrong route  YMMV I’ll take the bait  it depends….if you have drops because they look bang on gravelw@nker trendy and if those drops are narrow and set low then then a short travel suspension fo...

Easy, iPhone with wireless charging either by putting on the pad next to the bed or on the wireless charging car mount, same with the Apple Watch. Bike lights are dynamo powered, the sinewave beacon light has a usb output which charges a garmin battery pack, I’ve never plugged my garmin into the mai...

Woo! Superb trip report James, I’ve ten days off at the end of August and have been pondering what to do with them. Big prescribed route or an unplanned ramble?
You make the latter option sound very appealing :-bd
