Re: Recommend me a cordless combi drill

Thanks all! I have a few acquaintances who are in the trades, and they all use Makita, which is why I thought I should ask before availing my self of the Ryobi Xmas offer. I mean, I bought a Trend router before I had kids (18 & 16 years old), and I've never used it, so I don't think I need to sp...

I currently use these and love them.
I also run these on my gravel bike, in the 700c x 45mm flavour. Great for pretty much everything, but clag, slop and wet roots. There is a newer Cinturato™ Gravel S, which is supposed to be for softer and muddier terrain...

Recommend me a cordless combi drill

I'm in the mood for a cordless combi drill, as hauling my massive, 30 year old, corded drill up a ladder is getting old. I've already got a couple of Ryobi ONE+ garden tools, so have a couple of batteries, so the easiest thing would be to just buy one of theirs. Not wanting to fall into the sunk cos...

Re: What are you reading now?

Just finished Ten Myths About Israel by Ilan Pappe which was highly informative. Am now reading The Punishment of Gaza by Gideon Levy , which is a collection of newspaper articles from the late naughties, which are horrific to read. Both are currently free as ebooks, along with a few others from Ver...

Well, I'm currently off work with whatever lurgy put pay to my BAM run, and generally still feeling like poor show. Not sure cycling in the rain this weekend would be the best plan health wise. 😞 If I some how magically improve before then, I'll let you know... Well... Throat still sore, glands sti...

No a huge amount cherry round these parts, still got a throat thing going on. 😞 Did managed to get our sons old room decorated (over the last couple of weeks) for our daughter to move into this weekend. I did develop some 5"x4" sheet film last Sunday, which was cool, plus loads of UV tubes...

Re: Winter Bivvy?

What bike are you thinking Boab? I can either go gravel or MTB...26er rigid is perfect for the Thetford traisl IMHO but gravel does get round fine. Could meet lunchtime-ish at High Lodge - blatz round the trails/playground eyeing up somewhere to sleep, then pedal off to a pub in Thetford/Brandon or...

Re: Winter Bivvy?

I appear to be tied up 16-17 now, can probs still make next weekend. There's some shelters (3 sides and a roof, but concrete floor) in Thetford Forest (you can see it from the red route), and indeed in their playground areas you could probs camp down somewhere. Could almost ride round during the da...

We should maybe start its own thread then. I was thinking about contacting Wicken Fen to see if the basics campsite was available; open sided shelters, a fire pit and a composting loo. Meet at Cambridge Station, do a bit of a ride, camp, brekkie at Maglia Rosso, then either back to Cambridge or Bur...
