Nope, I'm down in South Cambridgeshire. Unless it's apocalyptic rain, you'll be fine.

Re: North Yorkshire Moors 300, July 1/2

Having ridden a gravel bike on some of those tracks before, I'm going for comfort over speed and taking the Scandal. Given my hands still haven't fully recovered from my romp around the Rebellion Way a few weeks ago, I'm in no mood to have sore hands halfway round. Slow (ish) and steady for me, so d...

Re: Decent lock for bikepacking

I use a couple of Z LOK's to lock up the bike outside shops; although depending on where I am, I sometimes don't bother. As has already been stated, it's more of a deterrent to the pissed up pub goer whose looking for an easy way home, they're not stopping anyone remotely determined. As for in sewer...

Re: Route creation - workflow, algorithms and the like

The idea I have for route generation is doable but needs an addition to Strava. Basically if you can thumbs up segments or routes the AI can learn what you like. You then tell it start and finish and it can use your preferences to cost segments for a standard shortest path algorithm. I could code t...

Re: Todays ride

Went out last night for a final big ride before next weekend's NYM300. Couldn't decide where to go, so ended up doing a slightly extended variation of my Round Cambridge the Hard Way route. Slightly over 200KM to get back to the house, I maybe mildly broken, expectations for doing next weekend in a ...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Fitted a new rear tyre. It arrived yesterday, so I set it up on my old back wheel with an inner tube and left it over night. Transferred it to the Superstar wheel at lunchtime, but it wouldn't pop onto the bead with the inflater primed to 140psi. Stuck an inner tube in and left it for another hour o...

Re: Cairngorms Loopy loop group finish

There's a group start on 9 September and you could be lucky and get decent, mild weather right through to mid October. They seem to have decided to start from Inverdruie rather than Blair Atholl, which seemed to be the previous start point. I'm keen to do the route, but don't see the point driving ...

Shimano m615 cranks with a raceface narrow/wode 32t green chainring which I'd bought for my other cranks but got the BCD wrong. You might need bolts to attach but ask nicely and I might well look for some! £25 posted. What length are the cranks...? Prolly too long for what I'm after, but I thought ...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Used my new pump to seat the truculent Racing Ray . While I managed two whole rides with an inner tube and without a puncture, I feel much better now it's finally setup tubeless. The Rocket Ron on the back seems to be loosing air, so have taken that off and will patch the bit cut and the other holes...

Re: New Cycling Uk route

I cycled this route on Saturday and went down Fincham Drove, mainly as it was early hours of the morning and no one was around. Was pleasantly surprised to see the No access sign was no longer in place at the start of the track.
