Nor me. Apparently they stopped importing it after it failed food hygiene standards, .

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

£137 + £4 postage. More than I wanted to really, but a realistic price I think. Last time we were out overnight I just thought 'I can't keep doing this anymore, it's just too fecking painful' so I decided to throw money at the problem instead. I bought a thicker mat and the quilt and will see if it...

UK Socially Distanced Covid Aware Winter Bivi 2020.

I know the Annual Winter Bivi is designed to be a social event but given the circumstances this is obviously impossible so I'm proposing an alternative. Saturday 12 December 2020 UK wide socially distanced winter bivi. Go for a solo (or with someone in your bubble) overnight bivi whilst complying wi...

Ten mile loop in The Pentland Hills with a difference. I was accompanied by my stepdaughter on her horse Woody and her black lab Lucy. Much enjoyed by all.

Off Topic. Tell me about 20" trials bikes.

Bicycle trials is something I've fancied for a while and you can pick them up second hand quite cheap. I'm specifically interested in 20" wheel ones.
Any models I should avoid or you recommend? Anything I should know or consider in advance.
Thanks.

Re: Chainring Spacer Question.

Well the extra long chainring nuts and bolts with 5 mm spacer arrived today and they were definitely extra long. I had to cut them down to fit but I'm happy with the result. The 5mm spacer looks so much better than the stacked washers I had in there.

That’s well nice, Ray. Don’t you find the bikes get covered in dust when cranking up all the woodworking kit up? Very tidy though. Hope it stays like that. Enjoy!!!! Thanks. Re: Nighttime riding, fear and loathing.

Night riding doesn't bother me but I'm not a great fan as there is no view and that's one of the main attractions for me. I'm also with htrider, I don't like going through farms at night.

rudedog wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 7:40 am Did you move the spacers on the bottom bracket? This will also shift the position of the chain ring (I forgot when first moved to 1 x )
I did think of it but didn't do it as there is only one spacer on the drive side. I'll check to see how close it moves the crank to the chain stay. Thanks.

Re: Chainring Spacer Question.

Should be OK Ray - I take it your using steel chainring bolts?! Just make sure there is plenty of thread into the crank spider. Some old triples used 5mm spacers for the granny rings and there will be a lot more torque on them. Steel bolts yes. What do you mean by thread into the crank spider? The ...

Chainring Spacer Question.

I've converted to a 1x10 drivetrain with a 30 tooth chainring mounted in the middle position of a 3x crank but the chain line was quite extreme in the lowest gear so I used 3 washers as spacers to move the chainring in to give the best chain line in both high and low gears. The problem is the 3 wash...

Nice work (and happy birthday btw). Is it safe to leave bikes out there though? You hear of so many getting nicked from sheds. They are locked to a very heavy concrete block that has a high quality motorcycle security chain embedded into it. I think the dog would hear people trying to break in as w...

Shed Extension. Oh Yes.

After my Dad gave me a load of woodworking machinery my 8x10 shed was no longer big enough so an extension was my only option. It cost just over £200 to build with the side walls made from fence panels being the only bits I didn't construct. Chuffed to bits with the results and now have loads of roo...
