Re: Training for the CTR

You could hire an altitude tent or canopy.
Maybe use it to get some altitude sleeping, Cutting down the time your there before the event, saving you holiday time and maybe money.

Advice on a large saddle bag.

I need a new saddle bag. This morning mine was damaged beyond repair after a small mishap. I don't want to take a bikepacking saddle bag. But it needs to take 2x 29er tubes, a small multi tool, and room for a very small utility box of various things (chain link, tyre leavers, patch repair, zip tie, ...

You may not get that. The 4mm spacing is to push the spider arms away from the teeth and let the chain engage with the teeth.

Re: Advice on chairing for 1×11

11 speed chain should work. The spacing between the inner plates is the same as regular 3/32" chain, it's the outer plates that are slimmed down to give the chain a narrower overall width. Downside to that chainring is it's not narrow/wide, so you'll probably want to give some thought to other...

Advice on chairing for 1×11

https://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CROOSS/on-one-stainless-chainring Will the above work for a 1×11 drive train. Just replaced my chain ring with another aluminium one. Couldn't believe how quickly the previous one wore out. And took me ages to figure out what my drive train problem was. Any way. Will it ...

Re: Scotland - General XC / Trail Trip Question

What time of year are you going? All good options but if you can mix in tweed love, ride to the sun. Edinburgh bike festival, festival in fort William, or an event like the world cup or enduro event it might be more lively, electric fields in Dumfries, rock ness, old music one in Perth, dare I say T...

No very alternative, but may work with a pair togs or ergon bars. And a handy front loop.

Re: New route, An Turas Mor

I have mixed views on new 'published' routes. I think this one is ok. Yeah it uses existing trails, yeah it's not the longest but says it is. But it has a decent start and end point, it's through some nice countryside and the known trails means it's going to be half decent. It's also heading to the ...

Re: WTD: Bar Light

I have two you can have. Either a lezyne super drive delivering 500l or an old exposure enduro, good for 800l. Battery was replaced last year by exposure. It was my commuting light, but have a dynamo now. Both come withbrakets. 25 or 35 respectively.

Pm me if you want pictures

Thanks

I have one major client (the nhs) and a handful of other clients that I work for every mont, so im good. Re: Siren fred bar or similar in the uk.

Got out for a ride today. Bars mostly sat there being un instrusive to the riding of the bike. Previously when I've tried this the extra weight hanging out over the front has made the front end floppy. There is no knee- arm rest interface -even when I try to make them hit. - this I must admit was a...

Interesting format, that may produce great dot watching, with the relay teams of four. And they are restricting the numbers as well.

Paraffin and wire wool. Leaving to soak overnight, so paraffin turns almost waxy. No diesel or petrol. You need alot more paraffin than you think.
