Re: Stay at home ends
With some hesitation..... the 'rules' say that you might? Removal of 'rule' to stay at home means in theory you could travel to Lands End, do a bit of riding, pop in at any shops and cafes, stop where you liked, but you'd have to be home by bedtime. End of stay 'at' home isn't the same as end of not...

Repaired Joystick. As has been said many times, good service. The whole back pulled out of the body when I extracted the charging cable. Mk14. There and back in a few days. Warranty. Well done folks.

Agreed. Plus some useful links at the bottom with kitlists etc (including from our very own JamesO).
All the bikes and gear (and riders!) in the photos look strangely clean though it must be said . Obviously not taken on any routes I've ever been on then .

Congrats Stu on 20,000 posts! Without those 20,000 posts This Place would just be a load of bike riders gently bickering about bikes and camping and stuff. Monsal Digression: a Society of which I'm on the committee had AGMs. One year I thought we should hold it outside. On Monsal Head viaduct. In December. For no fathomable reason. Also for no reason I convinced the other guys to take along some domestic items to help us feel at home.... table, chairs...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021
Nice one Lu. Noted the "rare" beaked-tarp configuration there. I use that sometimes if it's very rainy but I'm sure we'd get labelled as "pretend tent" users in some circles - with more than a little justification (also the cause of the internal frost that you suffered?) ...

HECK YESSSSSSSS!!!!! All the grins.   Great stuff. It was a pleasure to watch those slim-tubed machines being put through their paces. It caused me to reflect on how workmanlike and understated a lovely slim-tubed MTB looks as well (such as, oh, erm, well yes, my own P7 funnily e...

Started off having a doo-wop day. Marcels ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP8O_UwVjFs ) etc, then took in a bit of Ronettes ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RUOp6Qjn9U ) - they all look like they're having a whale of a time. In fact I'm a sucker for 60s girls ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d...

How long did that take you with a bucket and sponge JC?
Or, did you drive it round the corner to those blokes who do it for seven quid at the garage including air-blowing the mirrors?

Re: The post man's been ...
To be fair, this is all well confusing  : I had a perfectly good what I called hybrid bike. I decided I wanted to do some what I called bike touring, so I bought a pannier rack and bag for that; then I discover something called bikepacking, which seemed to be defined by having fancy seat pack...
