Re: Downs 300 ITT

Hi there. Yes, that's the one. My mistake - I thought Javi had completed it in in under 24hrs, but I think the website you signposted has been updated since I planned my ride. I think it's definitely doable inside 24 (I managed 240 of the 300k in 17.5 hours before I gave up), but I'd recommend doing...

Re: Downs 300 ITT

I had a go at this yesterday, but failed miserably. I'd hoped to do it in under 24hrs and set off at 3.45am (rejigged route for Seaford start point), but got to 150 miles at about 9pm and decided I didn't have the stomach for another 4 or 5 hours in the hills in the dark! Hot-tailed it back from Was...

This looks like an excellent solution - take my money now!
If your usb connector needs replacing, I found a pretty reasonable guy on ebay - 25 including return post. Most others are closer to 50 and garmin wanted 90!

Magnetic usb charging lead

There was a thread on here a while back about a magnetic USB charging leads and I've just bought one to try and improve my on the fly Garmin charging. The big plus for me is that it's a two part lead - there's a tiny bit that slots into the charging socket on the Garmin and this then has a really st...

Re: TNR 2019 - advice on bike transport

I've booked storage at a hotel right next to the airport. Cost about 30 euros for the week and the website was called nannybaggage or similar - I'll check and report back later to avoid causing you any awkward browsing history scenarios.

Re: Wheel Building in Sussex Hampshire

+1 for the Roger musson book. I'm no master mechanic, but I used his pdf to build my own truing stand and about 20 pairs of wheels so far. Dcr wheels near lewes are very helpful to beginners and are a great source of all related componentry. Yet to find a cheaper supplier of spokes...

Re: Wanted - hope bottom bracket

Thanks for all the replies. I've managed to find one on ebay, so it's reassuring to hear they last a bit longer than the Christmas cracker sram ones! The praxis one sounds interesting james - does it fit a standard bsa threaded frame?

Thanks mart. I may well just bite the bullet and get a new one, but just thought I'd ask in case someone had changed bb standards and had a redundant one.

Wanted - hope bottom bracket

Having experienced disappointingly short life spans with sram bbs, I'm going to give hope a go and just wondered whether anyone had one with usable bearings kicking around? 68mm bb shell and 24mm axle. Thanks

Thanks very much for all the replies. Lazarus, do you have caps for front or rear?

Ps not that posh - just reclaiming the hubs from a knackered wheel set a bloke at work gave me a great deal on!
