Re: Alpkit Kloke bivvy bag

John, what sort of sheet cover are you using, and is it light and waterproof ?
And where can you buy the material?

“I've made a sheet cover for the airbed to protect it and keep it clean when it's on the ground.“

Re: Handlebar harness catching mudguard

Thanks Mariner, Does nobody else have this problem ??? Anyway I’m nearer to solving it ! It looks like it’s my front suspension, which in its ‘resting’ position only gives 68mm of travel (a bit more than two and a half inches !) On my other bike it’s 100mm (4 inches) of travel, which is more like it...

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

Set off Friday afternoon trying to reach my spot before dark. Hard going on a very muddy track always slightly uphill. Could hear traffic noise from about half a mile away... can almost detect the urgency in everyone's driving in the race to get home for the weekend. Thank God I'm not on the road. I...

Handlebar harness catching mudguard

Just come back from my January BAM... (more later on that) I have a Wildcat handlebar harness, had it a few years. Thought I’d got used to it. Both yesterday and today it’s been driving me nuts... I can’t stop my dry bag catching the front mudguard every time I go over a bump. In the past I’ve had i...

After 3 hours trudging through waist high tussock land, I got a spot before it went dark... this one in the morning with a mist and strong winds ! Great Dun Fell at 2200 feet.

Bad luck uncle reg, but better than being under a car “always look on the bright side of life, ‘de duh, de duh de duh de duh’ And on a more practical note, slap a few pieces of tenacious tape on, (buy another in about 5 years) Or is it too late ? In which case sell your old patched one to one of the...

Hiya all I intend coming, but need to be back home Sunday before tea time... Re: One for the HT550 connoisseur.

That’s a hell of a challenge Rich  Are you doing the same route as this May ? How many hours sleep do you have in mind ? 5... or 6... ? So you’ll be riding at least 9 hours in darkness... and that leaves say 8am till 4:15pm in ‘daylight’.... (could be greylight... ). But I think perhaps ...

Shaf, I’ve just checked my OS map, and Great Dun Fell is 848m (2781 ft), and where the radar station is, that’s the top. Towards Cross Fell 893m (2929 ft) is Little Dun Fell at 842m It looks like Great Dun Fell is the highest road in Britain, higher than any in Scotland surprisingly. There are other...

Re: Fed up with Garmin. Alternatives?

I took a chance and bought a Garmin Edge 530 in May. A few glitches at first but it's performing well. It weighs 78g, has a very good battery life, charges quickly, and has tons of connectivity options which I don't use. A few minutes after I've saved my ride, it's automatically in Garmin Connect on...

Should have gone Thursday night BUT it was heavy heavy rain and I'd done 30 miles... So I went last night, after a gloriously sunny day, but I knew it was going to be cold. Lacking in motivation for BAM these last 3 months, so 1.5 miles to a local spot near the stream. https://live.staticflickr.com/...

It’s all the way through Stuart- tested by it letting water through. Abrasion: I doubt if it’s been caused by abrasion. If you look closely it doesn’t look as if it’s caused by abrasion, no scuff or anything like that. Cuben Fibre I would say is a lot tougher than any of the materials tents or tarps...
